Obviously you must know what you need to do but why did you have the prob last night? Does that happen very often?

The problem was the 12+ pills I take each day mess up my stomach especially if I don't eat right. I ate at the 4th of July setup eating hamburgers and nachos the prior two days. I couldn't eat on the 4th because of that which causes your sugars to drop. Usually not this far, but they drop big and fast while I was sleeping. Last night before bed my blood sugars were 199 which is high for normal people but mine tend to be in that range. Compare that to 59 the other night and it is a world of difference. I can easily be in the 300's on a given night. Normal numbers should be between 90-110 for non diabetics. I rarely see those numbers. I think the big crash came because I walked miles the last two days for the 4th, it was hot so you get dehydrated, and the lack of eating.

Again, anyone thinking they have diabetes or pre-diabetes should take care of it ASAP. It can be a catch-22 in that exercise is the best thing for it but it also zaps your energy which makes it almost impossible to exercise.

And this concludes today's health watch. :)

I am diabetic. I actually found out when I first moved to AZ. I would be at the gym for like 20 minutes and then just almost fall to the floor with no ability to stand. It was kind of scary.

The problem I have is I take 1 pills and 2 shots a day which does a number on your stomach which sometimes makes you not hungry. If you don't eat, you crash. I crashed. I ate two ice cream bars and two hotdogs at 11:30 last night to get my sugar back up. It worked, but if it drops much lower you can bottom out so bad you won't be able to make it to the kitchen to eat. The scariest part is when I started seeing things on my phone screen. Pardon my French, but it can really fuck you up if you are not careful. Oh and remember that drinking can do a lot to your blood sugars if not careful.

Damn that's tough. That would confuse and freak the shit out of me if it happened to me.

One of my good friends has diabetes as well and I didn't realize it until I saw him giving himself an injection when we stopped for coffee on the way to the Rose Bowl.

You don't need to pardon your French, I probably swear more than anyone else on this board. I'm stunned I haven't said fuck in this post.

Dude, you must be a gluten for punishment. :pound:I'm surprised you even bothered to post today. I would have probably just stayed in the rack all day if I felt like that.

The only thing that bother me about hangovers are being tired and the fact that I feel mentally slow for the entire day. I make it a mission to drink 2-3 liters of water a day so I never have headaches and I don't really get nausea - I think because I drink so much water. I also make sure to go home whenever things start getting fuzzy.

I'd say the greatest benefits of being in a frat during my college years are that I learned how to hold my liquor and how to manage hangovers.

I can’t think of anything more painful to watch than a Kyle Seagar AB. And it’s been that way for 3 years now. Just sad that he’s just a lost cause now after he looked to be one of the few guys this organization developed a little bit

After reading about all of the work he put in this offseason I was really optimistic about the potential of him bouncing back. Not sure if I'm willing to give up that hope yet, but I hope he figures things out.

I will say that watching Felix take the mound is definitely more painful.

Gonzo finally gets some decent defense behind him and some needed offense to get a decent W in Saturday night's game. FINALLY

The Mariners only using two pitchers in a game is almost about as rare as a perfect game these days.

Good example of Servais's incompetence with pitching staff/decisions: Opener gives up 3 runs, has runners on 1st and 3rd with zero outs before he finally decides to pull him. Wade comes in as the starter in a high anxiety situation. Now why did Servais wait to pull his opener when any damn fool could see his starter didn't have anything going for him? Doesn't Dipoto see this happening? 4 years in and Servais still messes up pitching decisions. Can't be good for the team morale. :L

oops, sorry...wrong thread :L

This opener shit really has to go. Can you imagine being the starter and still having to come into the first inning anyways but down 3 or 4 runs? Why even try?

I may be way off base here but I've kinda accepted the current situation so I'll attempt a glass half full response from their perspective.

On paper the opener thing has worked out terribly for the Mariners. The main reason being is they are just using guys for that opening inning that they have found off the street to do it. I will fully admit that I dont think Servais is a good manager in many different ways but I'm not 100% sure this is his decision or even the wrong decision. Whether we care to admit this year isnt necessarily about wins and losses. It just isn't. This opener thing may be a prime example of that. The results for the present suck but I think it's more about evaluating if this something that the ball club will do long term. I think thats more important at this point then trying to win a meaningless July series against the A's during the beginning of this process. Again just my two cents which may be very wrong.

Your two cents probably is worth as a much as most of our two cents are worth. As far as evaluating the "opener' protocol, I'm not sure how they will get a good read on it if they are using bad pitchers to open a game. At this point, I am not in favor of using an opener. I have not been watching all the games, but at least 2 different times I've seen the opener bomb out and then the starter has to come in trying to "save" the first inning and having to start out in a pressure situation behind the 8 ball so to speak. It would seem to me that if the "opener" is blowing it that the manager should pull him before the "you know what" hits the fan. Just my personal take on things is all.

Stinks that Seager still sucks so badly... Now we can’t really trade him for much, if at Now we can’t really trade him for much if at all. Hitting a whopping.203 with a .288 OBP, while slugging a measly.371

Yep, it's kind of sad how Seager has panned out. Love his defense but that's about it.

Definitely fair feedback. And I honestly am not really sure about how I feel about it, I am just trying to see things from their end. You could easily view it as something where Servais either doesnt know what he's doing or is too stubborn and it takes 4 months of failure before anything is changed. Dee Gordon leading off last year is one example of that. But if they are truly trying to implement something for future years then I can see it. But to be fair I really dont watch many games. I for sure average under 9 innings a week these days so I also dont know first hand. I have no idea who is even in the bullpen and probably couldnt name 4 of them without looking it up.

Post AS ranking and analysis:

M's are 25 in the ESPN PR.. blah blah blah... don't care. What I care about is the analysis which highlights a couple of bright spots.

Here's a bright spot: Mariners catchers are hitting a combined .282/.346/.496 heading into Sunday, ranking fourth in the majors with 21 home runs while driving in 52 runs. Another bright spot: Jarred Kelenic and Justin Dunn are making the Robinson Cano/Edwin Diaz trade look good, as both players represented the Mariners at Sunday's Futures Game. Kelenic already has 15 home runs in A-ball -- he said his goal before the season was more like 10 home runs -- while Dunn has a 3.82 ERA at Double-A with a 96 K's in 75⅓ innings. -- Schoenfield

Do you agree? I tend to agree with this.. especially on Kelenic and Dunn. I liked the trade when the M's picked up Kelenic... I still like it very much. The future is somewhat bright boys. And nice stats by the catchers... that's surprising to me.

Man, am I glad the AS game is over and we're playing ball again....:L 1st inning and the Angels are going to town on Leake, and of course, errors aren't helping Leake at all. Looks like it's gonna be a long night. :suds:
