3 Reasons why

1. If Colt McCoy starts we will have a top 5 pick
2. If Case Keenum starts Redskins will have a top 10-15 pick he is the QB that played in Denver
3. If 1 or 2 happens then Jay Gruden is fired and Haskins will be learning another system

The kid should be treated as an asset. He has great upside, let him learn the NFL game. Lets see what the team has at WR. For the most part that is a mystery right now. What about LT, do we have the All Pro or someone else. Don't throw the kid in the deep end and then ask if he can swim.

As he should.

See what you got in him. Dont feel you are married to him either. His value is relative to the 2019 draft class which overall may be looked at as the weakest draft class in history.

Who cares about the 2019 draft class or Haskins value relative to anyone else. All that matters is the picks the Skins made & whether they work out well in their system. It is very likely that it takes Haskins (or just about any QB) a few years to become truly effective. You don't judge him strictly on his rookie year & kick him to the curb if he is not the next Andrew Luck in year one.

I know that the Cards basically did this, but I certainly don't want the Redskins to emulate that organization. I know that your wet dream is to draft Tua but pretty sure that ain't happening. This isn't Madden football.

I dont know about that. Skins organization is at the bottom looking up. Any organization is better than the Skins.

Actually my wet dream is to draft Lawrence as I am positive right now at 19 years old he is better then any QB on the skins roster.

Tua is a stud too.

Haskins TBD but hes smart because if he declares in 2020 or 2021 hes probably a 2nd/3rd round pick

Theismann: QB Haskins sitting out rookie year is ideal

I'm not a Redskins but saw this. I guess Theismann is thinking he wants him to be developed over one year than compete for the starting job. I still think he deserves to have a shot at the starting job and if he outperforms the other QB's he should start.

Lawrence may be better than any QB on the Skins roster - who cares. He is not on the Redskins & won't be available for at least a few years. The goal is not to always have the best QB in the NFL. The goal is to have a QB who can run your system effectively & help contribute to wins. Haskins certainly has that potential & if so it doesn't matter if he is not the next Tua or Lawrence (both of whom as good as they are still need to prove themselves in the NFL).

Please continue with your negative posts. Better yet - find another team to root for & spew your crap on a forum for that team.

Case Keenum is the Denver QB we will get and will net us a top 15 pick if Colt Starts or plays over Haskins the season is done and Gruden is getting fired either way why not let him go down swinging with Haskins because neither Vet is going to get the Job done!!!

I sit Haskins this season.

I wouldn’t mind having number one overall this off-season because we would get a literal shit ton of picks for these QBs. Then we can draft TW replacement and help for Haskins.

I can see this having some merit. However I see no way that this type of situation unfolds in the real world. Several teams in the past have stated during the preseason that they would take this approach only to give into pressure & start a rookie QB often very early in the season.

Your scenario suggests that the Redskins sit Haskins and have an awful record in the process. Several potential problems with this scenario. 1. They actually have a halfway decent amt of talent if they remain relatively healthy & if TW plays (which I believe he will after sitting for perhaps a good chunk of training camp). 2. Keenum might actually do fairly decent in which case Haskins sits, but it does not unfold into the situation you allude to above & 3. if they do play poorly & have a poor record midseason then Gruden will be under tremendous pressure to start Haskins. Since he is in a make or break year it is hard to imagine that he won't succumb to that pressure (Unless he feels that he won't be retained regardless).

Oh well - again hard to tell how this will unfold since there are so many unknowns at play. Can't wait for the season to get started.

huh?

the skins have the worst set of pass catchers in the NFL.

the rb group looks pretty good. the offensive line is overrated and always injured. They have a huge hole at LG and a very very average C

the defense has some more talent on it but I dont think they have enough difference makers on either side of the ball

also Gruden only hope at keeping his job is to start Haskins and win maybe 8/9 games.... but why is everyone assuming that Gruden wants to keep his job? Probably the least attractive head coaching gig of the 32 nfl teams

LOL. You live in a fantasy world. As you mention - there are only 32 teams. Head coaching jobs are not easy to come by & Gruden is making good money. You make it sound like he is miserable every day at Redskins Park. I am sure that he has his bad moments but likes his job. Once again - your incorrect fans pt of view.
