For the simple fact they would have to find a replacement right in the middle of the draft and right before FA. That is just more disaster waiting. That isn't happening anyway.

I'd take my chances, it isn't like there aren't others who can pick up the slack. You could hire a consultant in the meantime as well. Teams don't have just one person doing the job of drafting and trading, this is really a non issue.

Disagree. Assuming it really was a mistake by the Lakers, it can be offset by the fact that they still won the trade. Firing him now, just creates more turmoil than they need when trying to land FA's.

I would love for them to hire someone more experienced as a consultant though. If they did that, it would help Pelinka tremendously and could help to prevent future mistakes.

Yeah, I think Pelinka can actually be a good GM. But he has a lot to learn still. I really wish they would hire a consultant though.

I could be wrong, but I do not have a lot of confidence in Pelinka's willingness to do that.
