Yeah, generally "okay" musicians become the biggest group to ever walk the planet, are credited as having influenced/changed music in a way that no one else has and are credited by nearly every relevant rock band after them as being an influence.
Are you referring to Buddy Holly and the Crickets?

Buddy Holly was overrated. One of those that get held up because they died young. No other reason.
You dumb fuck, I'd strangle you with my bare hands if we ever met.

See Elvis.

Elvis gets credited as a game changing performer and as one of the first pop idols. Not as a game changing artist.

Big, big difference.

He gets way more credit than as just a performer. You understanding the difference doesn’t make it the standard.

That's ridiculous. The first pop idol was Madonna Ciccone. She was response for the invention of color TV. Before her all TV shows were in black and white. She's an old hag now but my grandpa said she used to be hawt.

No one views Elvis as a game changing artist, song writer or musician... He never composed a single song. lol. For fuck's sake.

Elvis to The Beatles is a horrible analogy. They're credited and praised for very different things. Own it.

I fucked her in a Marriot up in Minneapolis back in 62. You think I don't know she was hot?

Elvis created Rock N Roll by incorporating Country with Rythmn N Blues. Before Elvis you had artists like Perry Como and Dinah Shore. Elvis opened the door for black artists that were locked out of mainstream radio. He isn't called the King just by accident.

Wasn't she like, 4 years old then? You have to register your address with the local law enforcement, don't you?

Without Elvis there never would have been The Beatles.

Yeah, that 50's tinker toy Rock n Roll sound really stands the test of time.
Tinker Toy sound? The Beatles covered 50's songs by Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and Carl Perkins. They idolized those artists.

Not as influential as Cat Stevens. He fused folk rock with domestic terrorism. Quite original. His tyle was copied by Snoop Dog who put a hiphop twist to it.

Black artists prior to Elvis created rock n roll by combining country and R&B.

He did open the door for black artists by popularizing it.

I never said his influence was anything other than hugely impactful. That would be absurd.

I have stated that he never composed a song of his own and that his influence on music is that of a behemoth performer/idol. As opposed to other various artists from the mid to mid-late 20th century who changed the way that popular music is approached, recorded, composed... etc... forever.

Without Elvis there never would have been The Beatles.

That has nothing to do with anything... every artist has influences.

Also, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry were equally as influential on The Beatles. If Elvis doesn't exist, you could never say that they still don't pickup guitars. That's absurd and you know it.

Regardless, it's an irrelevant fact. It doesn't change how different they were.

No... shit.... lol

They were their main reasons for getting into rock music.

You seem to be misunderstanding my point here in a miraculous sort of fashion.
