When Montana was not making the playoffs, losing in the playoffs...Brady was leading his team to victories. So he is punished for getting to thr big game more. Stupid logic. All those seasons Montana didnt get to the playoffs, NFCCG, Super Bowl are failures. Brady has been to 9 SB’s. Montana to 4. More than double, that is A LOT more playoff wins and victories. You arent looking at the whole picture, only half

Gay or not, play for play, Aaron Rodgers is simply the Best quarterback I have ever seen. Even better than Marino. But he hasn't accomplished the most, so clearly he's not the Greatest of All Time. … And Brady is ineligible for losing the Super Bowl not once, but TWICE, a double disqualification.

So, … the GOAT remains … (drumroll please)

JOE MONTANA

4 superbowl wins, that's cute.

No sir, YOU are the one not looking at the big picture. Let me explain, … as I said previously, though maybe not in this thread, Greatness is about accomplishment, but perceived accomplishment, not actual accomplishment. That is the missing half you don't see. While you are sitting there tallying up your checked boxes for Brady CCG wins, you don't realize that as a whole, no one cares about those. I mean, sure really diehard statistical sportsfans do, but that isn't the majority. Some "fans" only watch the Super Bowl (shudder). Brady is not punished for leading his team to the Super Bowl, he is punished for Losing it. I mean no one talks about someone leading their team to the divisional round either. Reality is, it doesn't figure in the equation for most football fans. Greatness in reality, is about perception. Should all that stuff you say count? Yes, but that ain't reality.

Actually the majority of fans and casual fans will see Tom Brady will own 80+ of the QB records when he retires.
Also wins/losses are a team stat even though QBs are given the credit right or wrong.
So if your criteria is SB wins. I'd take the guy who has more rings than any franchise. To have been able to accomplish that in the cap era, with arguably a less talented offense certainly weighs the GOAT conversation in Brady's direction.

I think you are being naïve. Being yourself wrapped in the statistical knowledge of actual fact, you can't comprehend the true difference between greatness and perceived greatness. You know too much. You are also overestimating most people and most non-diehard sports fans and those not from the NE fanbase. Sure all the talking heads will say what you are saying, because they are like you (know too much, well, some of them) and given it's repetition it may very well come to be true to most people in the argument of greatness, but it isn't the case now, and Montana is still the GOAT.

Yet you know much more than I. It's easy to see. The GOAT discussion is not subjective in your world. How can one argue you don't know all:noidea:

Know more than you? Maybe, maybe not, I'm just not looking at it thru Brady colored glasses that necessarily focus more on what he has actually done and doesn't take into account perception based on what most people (not knowledgeable sports fans) focus on.

As I said the majority of fans will look at records. Brady has a plethora of them.

It's not as if I'm on an island thinking Brady is the GOAT. He has the records and as you so eloquently pointed out, it's not perception. It's all there. It just depends on what you want to focus on to support your arguement.

You know much more than I. Not even sure why I'm trying to debate with you? There is no debate or subjectiveness in this discussion:yo:

Good Lord Man. I never said that, whether it is true or not. All I'm saying is I think I can take a step back better than you and see the current bigger picture than you, because I'm not wearing 10 ton Brady Homervision Glasses.

Shotgunning/chugging a cold beer is not easy without experience. Rodgers spends too much time focusing on the playbook to focus on that. Knowing him though, when the Bucks make the postseason again next year he’ll win the chugging contest. Especially with all the hilarious “ridicule” he’s received from idiots that would most likely embarrass themselves trying to chug.

I'm beginning to think I shouldn't be surprised about that, but it was meant in the light of "You can't see the forest for the trees" kind of way.
