Santana needs to be playing 2b or cf but definitely playing more.

Odor will complain to woodward that his presence is intimidating and making him play poorly. They will forward the complaint to JD. Then Santana will be traded to the Red Sox where he hits over .300 the rest of the season while we get class A ball prospects who never pan out or make it to the big league club.

I’m glad to see the guy doing well. It seemed evident to me early on that he wasn’t going to achieve success with us, we held on to him a bit too long. Glad he has a ring and place he thrives tho.

I keep hearing he can't play defense any longer and yet, there he is.

He was never considered a wizard with the glove/range to begin with. But now, line drives and deep flies are a true adventure, and it makes no sense to have him out there in the 9th - maybe even the 8th - if we don't have too. And with a lead, we don't have too IMO........

I think there’s a lot bigger problems to deal with.

Fielding hasn’t been great elsewhere in the outfield anyway. Mazara had a ball in the 9th last night that he should’ve caught and it would’ve saved the win for us in hindsight.

That ball was hit very hard over his head and with his back turned he was able to get a glove on it but it was not at all a sure thing to haul in.
