I don't think there is any chance of getting two #1's for him. I think we could get one first round pick. This is mostly because whomever trades for him has to also give him about $110M.

Maybe if Clowney signs soon his value will be clearer.

well, shit

My opinion is Trade Lawrence and take what you can get a 2 or a 2 and a 3 but it will cripple the
Cowboys to pay him 22 mill a year sadly you have to look at the business side and that means managing the cap in ruthless fashion.
I also would not pay Dak or Zeke and trade them for picks
I love them all but you cant pay that kind of money to a DE QB and RB you have to choose
I would be searching for a Franchise QB and that's not Dak IMHO
We have been down this road before and Salary cap hell is insane.
Opinions will vary but that's

he has stated thru his agent that he won't have the surgery until his demand is met. if by July 15, he hasn't signed the contract the surgery will result him being out for at least half the season. I would consider trading for Quinn and signing Ansah and rejecting his franchise tag

Watch any national sports talk show, listen to any of them on talk radio, count the number of times you hear ''Cowboys''...then total that up against not just how many times you hear ''Browns'', but how many times you hear ''Cowboys'' vs how many times you hear every other team combined. Case closed
Actually the Patriots are mentioned as much or even more than the Cowboys.

Heath really has not developed. He has the size and speed, but really no football smarts or instincts. Iloka on the other hand seems to understand football. Wish we would have at least brought in tre boston. Still would not be surprised if heath gets lots of playing time SMH
You can forget about signing Boston unless he agrees to a cheap contract.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones says the team is at a contract "impasse" with franchise-tagged DE DeMarcus Lawrence.
"We’re motivated to get something done and hopefully at some point we’ll get some momentum going," Jones said. "Right now, the best way to describe it is we’re at an impasse. We’re apart. But certainly optimistic." The sides have until July 15 to reach a long-term agreement. Lawrence reportedly considered the team's initial offer "not serious." This is going to take a while, if it happens at all.

not a pleasant update
Trade him for some draft picks.

well that means we cant trade him. Cant trade someone not under contract.
well if he has not signed a new contract or the franchise tag by July 15th and had the surgery on his shoulder then I would rescind the franchise tag and then let him walk. if he waits until after the 15th then he would miss anywhere from 5 to 8 games

This goes from nice to disastrous if Lawrence shows up in the bottom category. Hopefully he realizes that $120M is kind if nice...otherwise kiss him goodbye

More I think about it Trading Lawrence is the only option that makes sense. Tank has been great but he has been hurt and played through some and was suspended some .
I take what I can get and move on you can’t pay them all and if you can’t trade then rescind the tag late. Somebody will sign him but you can’t pay that money for no production 1/2 a year after surgery. Business is business and both sides know it. Shame on the Cowboys for not getting it done sooner and shame on Tank for trying to be way more reasonable in his demands.
Both side got shit stains all over themselves.
Simply time to move on and keep plugging for both.

The only way to trade him is for him to sign his Franchise Tag and he won't do that

I think we resign him and don't need to explore the trade route. If we don't it will significantly hurt us this year.

On you other point. The Cowboys did NOTHING wrong IMO. They gave him $17M last year and at worst are offering $20.5M this year for one year and at best $120M over 6 years. I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling the least bit sorry for Tank and I don't in any way whatsoever think the Cowboys are wrong to tag him again or to offer him $20M per year for 5 or 6 years. This is all Tank. If he wants to sit out, then screw him. It makes him no better than Bell who lost a lot of money by sitting out. These players are more self absorbed and stupid by the year.:2cents:
