I don't understand all the hype regarding Ford as top 10 or even top 32. He's not all that athletic as he's such a big RT and his footwork is extremely slow and labored. I highly doubt he tests well and wouldn't be surprised to see him available in early 2nd round.

If Ford latches onto you it's pretty much over but I think he'll find it extremely difficult on the outside as a OT. Speed rushers will blow by him.

He should be a RG only as that's where he could be dominant in the NFL, imo.

Todd McShay countered with DeSean Jackson -- the better version of John Brown -- and Kiper thought it was a "good one." McShay continued to say that Marquise Brown is one of the fastest wide receivers in the last "five or so years" and it's hard to argue against his on-field speed. Just last week, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, who also compared Brown to Jackson, said that there's a chance that Brown could be the first wide receiver drafted, but we'd set Ole Miss WR D.K. Metcalf as the odds-on-favorite.

ESPN's Mel Kiper compared Iowa TE T.J. Hockenson to Rob Gronkowski.
That's a future first-ballot Hall of Fame tight end, so calling Kiper bullish on Hockenson is an understatement. Todd McShay tapped the brakes a bit, noting that Hockenson isn't as strong as Gronk is, but they both agreed that Hockenson and Gronk both have swag, which is undeniably the most important thing scouts look for. But in all seriousness, Hockenson is a potential NFL star who offers high-end pass-catching ability and relentlessness as a blocker. Another comparison for Hockenson is 2018 breakout tight end George Kittle.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller called Central Michigan CB Sean Bunting his sleeper corner of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Bunting (6'1/181) is a Day 2 prospect who offers "next-level ball skills" and a lengthy frame, just like Isaiah Oliver did when he was drafted. The Draft Network's Kyle Crabbs shares a similar opinion as Miller, calling Bunting a high-ceiling player who needs the proper development to actually reach his ceiling as a potential long-term starting corner. During his collegiate career, Bunting forced four fumbles and collected nine interceptions.

Bunting is at least two full years of development away from being able to be a reliable CB. He has poor choppy footwork, flat-footed in pedal to transition, has too many false steps and guesses route to be run all too often. He'll risk jumping a route when he has no back-end support, therefore giving up long plays and that's in the MAC.

The Athletic's Joe Goodberry said LSU LB Devin White is "exactly what the Bengals should be looking for with the 11th pick."
We certainly agree. The Bengals defense isn't what it once was, but White (6'1/240) would be a great piece to begin the rebuilding process. White has become the consensus top linebacker in the class -- Michigan's Devin Bush and Alabama's Mack Wilson are the next two -- and is widely considered as a top-15 player, which puts White very much in play when the Bengals are on the clock with the 11th overall pick.

pretty much with the above. If Detroit doesn't jump at the chance to draft White then Bengals should be the next obvious choice.

Matty P relies on those LB'ers to clean up behind a DL that is expected to contain the L.O.S., Gap integrity, seal the edges in run support.

NFL.com's Lance Zierlein says Miami RB Travis Homer in "plenty of dog to him in pass pro."
Homer (5'11/195) can "thump it out" while in pass protection, according to Zierlein. Of all of the attributes a running back can have, pass protection always seems like the biggest hindrance to seeing playing time as a rookie, so this is good news for Homer. As a runner, Homer averaged 6.0 yards per carry, but he only had four touchdowns on 164 carries, scoring only two touchdowns on 24 red zone carries. While there's not a huge ceiling with Homer on the surface, he has the skills to potentially carve out a role in the NFL but that is dependent on where and when he is drafted.

The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard called Alabama RB Josh Jacobs "the toughest player" he has watched for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Ledyard attached a video of Jacobs (5'10/216) trucking a poor defensive back when Jacobs easily could have just run out of bounds as evidence to his claim. Jacobs has the ability to run over people, but he has enough finesse to make people miss as well. This was obviously evident as a runner, but Jacobs also has talents as a receiver, which is part of the reason why Jacobs sits atop of many analysts' draft boards. If Jacobs tests well at the NFL Combine, he'll have a chance of being a first-rounder.

2019 Combine Preview: Tight end

Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn has made it very clear that upgrading the tight end position is important to him this offseason.

“Yeah, the tight ends are definitely a priority for us,” he told season ticket members last week.

The Lions are looking this offseason to add playmakers at the position, and could look to both free agency and a good draft class in their attempts to upgrade. Former fourth-round pick Michael Roberts and veteran Jerome Cunningham are the only tight ends currently under contract for next season.

This is nice draft class of tight ends, and those prospects will try to impress later this month at the NFL Scouting Combine:

Best trait: Overall game. He’s fluid in the passing game and might be the best blocking tight end to come into the league in a long time. He’s a plug and play tight end in all phases of the game and in all schemes.

Concern: He’ll continue to fill out in an NFL weight program, but there are few holes in his game.

Skinny: Hockenson won the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end with 49 catches for 760 yards (15.5 average) and six touchdowns this past season. He’s good.

Best trait: Athleticism. He can stretch the field and be a big-time receiving threat after catching 44 passes for 710 yards (16.1 average) and seven touchdowns for the Tide last season.

Concern: He’s still a bit raw as a full-time starter for just one year.

Skinny: He’s not the all-around player Hockenson is, but can step in right away and be a nice weapon in the pass game and a plus blocker in the run game.

Best trait: Versatility. Iowa lined him up inline, out wide and in the wing. He has terrific acceleration and speed to create separation. He’s a big-play threat at the position.

Concern: Fant needs to get stronger and work on his technique as a run blocker.

Skinny: He’s going to contribute more in the passing game than he will as a blocker early on. He tracks the ball well down the field and can wear a lot of hats in the passing game.
