I see @Mecca point. I think some Lakers fans have overvalued Zubac.

I have never been a particular fan of his. But I watch every Lakers game and have seen his improvement.

He has improved from basically "end of the bench, soon to be playing overseas" into a solid backup/spot starter.

He's not the trash that Mecca and some others think he is, but he's also not a starting big like some Lakers fans think he is.

He's basically not good enough or bad enough to warrant the amount of discussion that's been dedicated to him since the trade. lol

Zubac is 21. He's going to improve a lot

hes missed what? 18 games

0.0 chance

Yeah, I agree. Like I said in a later post...when the Lakers were sitting at #4, you could make a case. If they somehow manage to climb back to that spot, you can make a strong case because of how far they fell without him.

But even then, I don't see him winning it.

As you point out, he's missed too many games.

Dude, please.

The Bucks would be barely average without Giannis.

You arguing otherwise is retarded.

Also you can't base everything off one game. They're still deep and good without Giannis.

Bledsoe
Brogdan
Middelton
Miritoc
Brook

Is pretty good without him would be easily a playoff team in the east

I watched the game, they were missing open shots and bunnies. They beat the raptors last time when both Giannis and kahwi were out lol. And not to mention it was a 3rd game in 4 nights

I'm just trying to get your boy the MVP

If he couldn't score or rebound like he does, but could jump high and run fast, people would be all over him. It's a bit sad when basketball skills are overlooked in favor of combine results. He is a "born too late" prospect though. 10 years ago he would be much more highly regarded, but the modern NBA wants everyone to shoot 3s and switch defensively. It's a different game now. That doesn't mean he isn't a useful piece for an NBA team though.
Lmfao

He's been good for what?

6 weeks?

His ass was glued to the bench before that stint.

I disagree.

Sure, there are still little things that he can do to improve his game like improve his passing and develop some sort of a perimeter shot. Not necessarily learning to shoot the 3, but being able to score from outside the paint.

But he's not going to get faster, jump higher or be any more athletic and that's always going to limit him. He's never going to be a guy who can defend on the perimeter and he's not going to be more than an average at best pick and roll defender.

If a team could put Zubac's brain in Javale McGee's body, they'd really have something though. lol

East is top heavy, just like the West.

Being a playoff team out East is not a barometer for being a good team.

Without Giannis, the Bucks are average.

With Giannis, they have a shot at the Finals.

That makes him MVP material.

Which is what I said in the initial post with a splash of embellishment.

So, I'm kinda confused about what you are arguing.

I disagree on being average. They're to deep with good players and a good coach. But I agree that he brings them to the finals though. I've seen them play more than one game without Giannis and they did so much better against a better raptor team without kahwi, when Giannis was out

I don't know I think he can be a good center in a few years. I'll give it time.

I actually agree with that assessment and it's pretty much what I've been saying all along.
Yeah, I can meet in the middle with that.

I'm still perplexed about the deal.

Not from the Lakers perspective.

I know why you did it.

I just don't get why the Clippers did.

Why not just keep Gortat?

They still paid his whole salary.

Maybe they think you guys are really gonna sign Melo with that open roster spot.

That's one way to derail your playoff run.

Did you read your own post?

WITHOUT KAWHI.

I'm not saying they can't beat a equally wounded Team without Giannis..

I'm saying if you take Giannis off the team, they are average.

Like LeBron with the Cavs, he turns a team that would be fighting for a playoff spot, at best, into a bona fide contender in the East.

Okay, I'm going to put aside my preconceived notions on the kid and try to be open-minded.

Give me a comp that you can see him developing into....

Not KAT.

Definitely not Jokic.

Capela, Adams, Deandre Jordan, Gasol?

I can only think that The Logo has some other move planned. Zubac is only 21 while Gortat is 34.

The Clips are tanking, Zubac is a young player who has room to improve and while he may not fit the Clippers there are teams that can use him.

Gortat is a UFA after the season, while Zubac is a RFA.

Maybe he figures that if Zubac continues to play well, he can get something for him in a sign and trade and if he doesn't continue to play well, he can just renounce him?

I'm very concerned about the possibility of Melo going to the Lakers.

It's not that I don't think he could help. He's not what he used to be, but he can still put the ball in the basket. So, he could provide some needed bench scoring if he can accept that role.

The problem is, he's needed to accept that role for at least the last 3 years and hasn't.

Maybe Lebron and Rondo have strong enough personalities to make him accept it...but I don't think I'd want to take that chance.

i think its as simple as they would win more games with Gortat than Zubac and they want to keep their draft pick.

Without Giannis and kahwi. Magic are not a better team than raptors without kahwi. They just had an off night vs magic. They have beaten better teams than the magic without Giannis like Toronto without kahwi like I just mentioned.

Also lmaoo that cavs team can not beat this bucks team without at all. This bucks roster without Giannis compared to that Lebron team is wayyyy better

to be fair did you say they would be garbage without Giannis in a previous post?

i think there is a rather large gap between garbage- and average- which you call them in this post.

are they a playoff team without giannis?

may be- maybe not.

I can see Adams possibly. Big men take longer to develop
