Yep, the Mosgov contract was a complete fuck up. So was Dengs. And I can probably come up with another dozen bad contracts the Lakers gave out.

Difference is, I'm actually willing to admit that.
Except TT is a far better contract than Mozgov and Deng....not even in the same stratosphere. Any team needing rebounding that could sacrifice scoring some would want TT.

if the Cavs gave TT a contract between 10-14M per year for 3 years I would be very happy next offseason.
3 years 42 would be a little steep - but you could do worse.

3 years 30 would be ideal.....but anything between 3 years 30 and 3 years 42 would be just fine with me.

I think that's what you might see......or they will move him and take advantage of him having an expiring deal.

mybe if they get a deal theycant refuse but they hve liked his leadership.

he has done a phenomonal job keeping this team together and being an example. I think if there is a guy they hold on to among all those expiring contracts -he just mightbe it

Who cares?

The cavs grossly overpaid for a player who's a dime a dozen and rather than hold your hand up and accept that, you're actually making pathetic excuses for it.

Yep.

Might be right....Despite what's been going on with the Kardashian seems like a good guy. Wife runs a nonprofit having to do with epilepsy and he agreed to come out and talk to the group after a game earlier in the season. Hung around, answered questions, never made it seem like he just wanted to leave (which if he did after a game I'd have understood).

Yeah comparing Mcgee to TT is just kinda stupid.

Javale is a solid player, mainly for the bench, but he plays low minutes. Other than this year he hasn't played 20+ minutes a game since his early Wiz days. TT is better at everything except dunking and shotblocking.

Your buddy @dtgold88 brought up the comparison.

@shopson67

Ffs....now I know why the Lakers are interested in Morris.

Ill give you 2 guesses who his agent is.

You'll only need one.

So, next year the Lakers lineup is gonna be Bron, KCP Bledsoe, Morris and Noel at this rate...lol

Probably Klutch.

Go back and read what I said if you can read lol. I said "it's not the greatest contract" and it isn't but at least he was a big part of a championship team. And it really is true, you can't find too many guys that can do what TT does.

I have said many times over and over that he is overpaid. But there is a HUGE difference in his contract in a guy that adds nothing to a team, especially a bad or average team

How about quoting his stats last finals and tell me if he's worth $16m a year.

Didn't Steph out-rebound him for the series?

McGee is pretty much capable of giving you what TT gives you and he makes a LOT LESS.

:pound:

Pretty sure he makes more than 16 million.

Tristan Thompson Stats | Basketball-Reference.com

Yikes......goes up to 18.5 million next season.

It's funny two Laker fans talking about bad contracts. It's like you two idiots don't have enough brain cells combined for one normal brain. Already said he was overpaid.

The Lakers are STILL paying Luol Deng till 2021-2022. WOW :laugh3: you know that guy they paid $17M and $18M for not playing and isn't even on the roster now.

Mozgov got $16M for riding the bench LOL

Tristan got overpaid to do the dirty work. Set screens, one of the best rebounders/offensive rebounders in the league. Also one of the best big man perimeter defenders as well.

I will say GS was never a good matchup for him, especially those last two years but he dominated just about every other team with his dirty work. Overpaid but love the guy. Like Wiggy said $10-12M is a good salary for him so they overpaid him by $4-6M

The Lakers overpaid two players AND are still paying $5M a year for Deng AND they traded away the Nets now All-Star PG to move Mozgov. Wow, that is hard to beat. Those are some GREAT moves :suds:

I feel the same way but I don't think Randle wanted to be in L.A. As far as I know, there wasn't much L.A. could do

2 things there:

1) Randle was a restricted FA
2) he didn't want to be in LA because LA showed no commitment to wanting him. I am quite certain he would have happily signed an extension had the Lakers shown interest in him.

Lol, you still don't get it.

Both @DJ and I KNOW Deng and Mosgov were bad contracts. Heck, every single Lakers fan has said so. And every Lakers fan has criticized the previous Lakers FO for those moves.

Difference is, you're defending a $18m contract for a guy who averaged 6 and 5 on the biggest stage.
