Who cares?

The cavs grossly overpaid for a player who's a dime a dozen and rather than hold your hand up and accept that, you're actually making pathetic excuses for it.
To quote Harold Ramos in Stripes......"that's none".

And it seems mentioning he's a double double guy who has led the league in offensive rebounds is a "pathetic excuse?"

yah because TT is better and reliable

Yeah comparing Mcgee to TT is just kinda stupid.

Javale is a solid player, mainly for the bench, but he plays low minutes. Other than this year he hasn't played 20+ minutes a game since his early Wiz days. TT is better at everything except dunking and shotblocking.

Hey, look who's back. Still not commenting on the other posts I left you then, chickenshit?

Btw, you got owned enough in the TT v Whiteside thread. Time to let the grown ups talk now. Although I don't think dtgold really qualifies either.

Great you can also name all the double double guys who make less who have hit FA....and have led the league in offensive rebounds.

Based on his overall production, TT is overpaid because there are other players who can produce what he does for less.

Having said that, the Cavs made the absolute right move in signing him for what they did.

Because of their cap situation at the time, they couldn't let TT walk and then sign another guy. They wouldn't have had the cap space.

But they could pay TT what they did and keep him. He was a big part of 4 finals runs and a title. So imo, he was worth it.

I actually wish that made less because he could provide a good chunk of what the Lakers need and he knows how to play alongside Lebron.

you also at one point said Zubac was better so your credibility is rather shot on the matter. gmafb=== but yes- go on- i am sure your list would be very amusing

Yeah i'll take Zubac over TT right now. Think quite a few people outside of cleveland would too.

Still not as bad as that Mozgov trade then you had to get include DLo in that trade to get rid of him. Huge mess-up there.

TT has been on many playoff teams and one a championship, the contract might not be the greatest but at least he was a key piece on some great teams.

TT is by no means a star but he does some really great things- first- he is incredibly durable, he is a great rebounder, he is a great teammate, he does not need the ball and still is able to score here and there, he always plays hard and has a great work ethic, he rarely makes bone-headed mistakes

he is not going to get 18M a year on his next contract but he will get a nice chunk of change because he is still fairly young and he is precisely the type of role player that really helps out championship caliber teams. It cant be overstated that having a guy who is rarely hurt, who never demands the ball, who always plays hard, who has a great work ethic and attitude, and also- can play the game sure is a nice thing to have.

his best attribute is the fact that he can switch out on the perimeter. In todays NBA that is huge. Being able to switch the pick and roll and have a guy like Thomspon be able to credibly guard on the perimeter is a not a luxury in todays NBA- its a necessity.

Yep, the Mosgov contract was a complete fuck up. So was Dengs. And I can probably come up with another dozen bad contracts the Lakers gave out.

Difference is, I'm actually willing to admit that.

I would go along with this. Is he a little overpaid? Maybe. But as you said they had no choice......but I would add pretty much every FA who is not a max guy or vet minimum/exception guy gets overpaid.

so comparatively speaking his salary isn't bad at all.
