You'd field a team good enough to be either barely in the playoffs or just out... B-ball purgatory.

The problem for teams like NOLA is they will always be a farming system for other teams unless they hit on several draft picks in a row.

They have to overpay to get average talent in free agency.

So, they have to get guys on rookie deals or that are signed to long-term, questionable contracts via trade.

This is why I don't get why you think AD is so much better than the Minny version of Love, but to your comment and what NO should do I agree.

Gonna be tough for them as for a team like NO you really have to get lucky. While I appreciate Gilbert's willingness to spend I also know the Cavs were extremely lucky in Lebron being from Akron and the pingpong balls going their way to get Kyrie and Wiggins.

wont be fun, but I wonder if tanking is the way to go for NO....and as you say, be on the way up in 4-5 years.
