Alabama has won 12 NCs in the poll era, 50% more than the next best program. Whether they did it with what you consider “good” quarterbacks, so what? Purdue and Stanford have produced plenty of good NFL QBs. What good did that do them?

You mistake me for someone that doesn't like Alabama. I had no rooting interest in any of the 8-10 college games I watched this past season. I watched the Natty expecting a great game and instead I watched a 19 yr old QB that looks pretty damn near NFL ready tear the Alabama D a new asshole while simultaneously being rather unimpressed with Tua.

It was the 2nd Alabama game I watched, the Georgia game being the other and I just don't Tua doing much in the pros. I also watched an Oklahoma game and I wasn't impressed by their Heisman trophy winning QB either. That kid is going to get killed if he ever gets into an NFL game.

Whether Tua is or isn’t a good NFL QB has nothing to do with any other Alabama QB. He (just like the team) got WAY too much hype too early. I never was a big fan of the accolades being handed out for beating bad to mediocre teams.

All of that said, he CLEARLY played hurt against UGA. That game wouldn’t be useful in evaluating him. The CFPCG was a different story. Humbling for the entire team. I can only hope they learned the proper lesson. Ditto for the pundits.
