Okay. I'm going on the half a dozen or so Texas A&M games I recall watching
His game was all/mostly track meet. He'd get his pressure by lining up wide and running around the LT

Yeah, this is only one writers opinion, so we'll see on Josh Allen? There will be many more opinions from national writers, and 'draft gurus', and there will be some 'for' him.

What I recall the most at the time was my thought of him as a one trick pony.
I don't know enough about Allen to know if i'd be happy with him at 2
As long as he's "coachable" and a hrad worker, I don't see too much of a problem with him honing his craft
Real shame he backed out of the SeniorBowl

Saleh basically called out Josh Allen for skipping the Senior Bowl. Some of the other notable edge rushers were meh.....

Montez Sweat had an OK week in drills but an average game. Jaylon Ferguson was poor all week. A guy I never heard of, and had to look up - Charles Omenihu - looked pretty good in the game.

so it MIGHT turn out no ER is worth #2 should Bosa go #1? The easy thing is to say is trade down, but with no top QB's on the board, i find it hard to believe? At least 'hard' in the sense we won't get a 'blockbuster' type trade down, like Wentz or Mariota.

Don't even see a small trade down like Trubisky, unless we want to take less?

Quinnen Williams.

If Armstead is still on the roster by the draft, this would make it a hard sell? A 'hard sell' for Lynch to explain why.

I've already said ok with QW is he's the clear value, but think most people (not just 49er fans) will think too much?

Only if people value position over talent. As of right now, Bosa and QW are the two players who are considered blue chip guys......I would much rather plug QW in and get what most expect to be an excellent talent vs. taking a risk at #2 and pray someone else becomes a dominant edge rusher other than Bosa.

Again, my ideal scenario at this point is:

1) Bosa
2) Trade and get massive compensation (and still end up with an edge prospect or two
3) QW

The problem is the QB prospects are the ones that usually get massive compensation and none are really worth that kind of trade.

The Cards could take QW. He is good talent and they need help on the inside more than the edge

Yes, so i don't see a trade down at all, unless we're willing to take less. "Less" meaning what we've seen in recent past. Don't even think we can get a "Trubisky" trade down?

There needs to be someone another team wants to trade up for? Maybe its for QW if he's so much value?

At this time in his process, Carson Wentz and Goff were seen as high 2nd rounder/low 1st rounders in their class......where did they end up being drafted?

Even if SF doesn't get the compensation they desire, they sit there and take Bosa or QW.

5 hypothetical trades for 49ers in NFL draft

All tempting deals but aren't the Raiders also looking for an ER? Jets? So if you move back too far, we MIGHT see 2-3 ER's go off the board.

Is this class THAT deep at ER or after Bosa, the next tier is THAT even?

To me, if they really like someone, stay put and draft him. Even if he's not the 'common name' we're all reading now, if he's the guy they identify, draft him.

Bosa is clearly the #1 ER...but there are several intriguing names behind him (Allen/Polite/Burns/etc.) As much as I want Bosa, SF don't have much draft capitol this year, so anything to garner a lot of picks in a defensive-heavy draft is OK by me.

If it means losing out on Bosa, only to get a crack at possibly two others, plus getting another 1st next year or a player like Ramsey in return? That's a win, unless of course the draft picks turn out to be crap.

Assuming Bosa is clearly the #1 ER, like you say.............my opinion is draft him. The draft capital is enticing in a trade, but if you start 'fishing' for a top ER, our D will be in the same boat. All the DB's will look like chit, and we give up points.

If he is taken and hence unavailable, then you see if the value between remaining ER's are about 'equal'? If so, only then do explore trade downs, but obviously not so far down you miss a GOOD one. I'd rather not draft two "tier 2' ER prospects, HOPING one pans out big?

We should not be thinking the extra 1st in the next draft, is a back-up plan. You go into THIS draft thinking you WILL fill LEO with a solid prospect.

Which I've stated all along. If he's there, just take the guy and call it a day. The only scenario I can really see is if somehow Bosa really implodes/SF gets a ridiculous trade offer they can't refuse/etc.
