It's a dumpster fire for sure and this is just another thing on top of it but if theres one position USC can lose a player its at WR. USC has another 5* coming in and I'm wondering if Bru has seen the play of the 4* WR from Utah who has been outstanding at every all star game outplaying many 5*s and was voted co Poly player of the year with Tuas brother.

Agree. With the other stuff that's been going on, it's easy to speculate as to why he has decided to transfer and blame it on the lack of an OC, etc.

It always sucks to lose a 5 star kid, but as you said, wide receiver is the one spot where we can afford to lose a recruit.

Given how deep USC is at wide receiver, he may simply not like the numbers. Michael Pittman Jr. coming back for his senior season may have something to do with it as well. Bru may have been expecting him to declare for the NFL.

JT and Amon-Ra are supposed to be 2 of his closest friends, so it will be interesting to see if they can convince him to stay.

This isn't that big of a loss to SC as some people think. SC has a stable full of WR's. If anyone should be concerned about this kid it's Big 12 teams not named 'Texas'.
If there is one thing the Big 12 has plenty of it is wide receivers. They are a dime a dozen in the conference IMO.

Big 12 reputation is a QB conference but I'd put the WRs in the conference has above the QBs...both historically and currently. Hell, last year every team outside of Kansas/K-State had more than a couple of damn good WRs a defense had to account for. WVU, OU, Texas, Texas Tech, Okie Lite, TCU, Baylor, Iowa State...all had good ones. Some of 'em didn't have anyone to throw it to 'em, but they are still pretty good WRs.

IIRC, Tech had the most alumni WRs in the NFL last year.

Just my opinion, Bru is. 4 star WR and a 5 star LB. Only problem is he doesn’t know it.

7 of them, not bad at all.
QBs and WRs have WANTED to play at Tech. DLs, LBs and DBs, not so much. Kind of shows up in NFL players from Tech. On the other side of the ball, Tech has 3, three, tres, defensive players...2DEs and a safety.

SC has a commit from Kyle Ford out of Orange County and that kid might be the best WR prospect on the west coast atm.

The opposite of Marquise Lee who came to USC as a DB but turned out to be a better WR .

Pretty common. Lot of kids would rather play WR or DL compared to LB and OL. 6’2, 220-230, and 4.5ish 40 are freakish LB numbers. Those are good numbers for WR, not freakish though.

He can appeal to the committee (forgot the name). They have been very friendly in their past rulings toward players. USC may not want anymore press on this and just let him go. Right now USC has bigger issues than Bru McCoy. He is just a symptom of a bigger issue. It is January and it looks like they have a lame duck coach for 2019. They need to blow it all up and get a legit AD in there to move on from the Swann era

During recruiting, Texas was hoping they'd closed the ground on the guy, even tho we knew it was a longshot: Then USC got Kingsbury, finally, right before early signing day. I think 3 days after signing day, he signed with the Cardinals.

Reports I read were KK told Bru and his parents that he wasn't going anywhere. That'd probably piss me off too.

I believe they all were thinking KK was going to end up head coach. Just my thoughts tho, I of course don't have a clue.

To do that he doesn't have to go into the transfer portal, which he has oddly done. If he can get a release from his LOI, he can sign with another school on NSD ... it won't be a transfer.

The other alternative, should they not release from the LOI, is to immediately transfer and seek a waiver. I can't imagine they will not release him, but I guess he has entered the portal just in case.

yep he’s gone. call me the asshole of college football fans. i hope they don’t rule in his favor when he appeals. i think this should be reserved for emergency type of situations father is dying that kind of stuff not because oh i don’t like the new coach or this guy is leaving so i want. i come from a military background where a commitment means something *shrugs*

5 star WR commit, who just enrolled a few weeks ago is already in the transfer portal.

I don't think I've ever heard of a player transferring before even stepping foot on the practice field.

Would he still have to sit out a year if he transfers even though he was never really a part of the team?

Something stinks here.

Notre Dame had a DT a while ago from California commit on signing day then a few weeks or months later decided he wanted to go to UCLA. It seemed very shady at the time I heard they have his high school coach a job and his sister a athletic scholarship as well I don't know if it was true but that was the rumor.

I watched him at least 5 times in High School. I saw him six times live at USC last season including the Texas game in Austin. He was what he was . A talented kid behind an O line that continuously put him in 2nd and 3rd n long because of penalities and he had to run for his life a lot. Oh and the senior center looked like he was trying to see how wide and high he could snap it at least 10 times a game. Imagine a freshman QB trying to see what the defense is doing all the while knwoing he can't take his eyes off the center or risk the ball flying 15 yards backwards.
So it was really hard to tell what we have in him. I know he can throw with a good line and time like he had in HS but he never had that at USC this first season. His ceiling isn't Trevor Lawrence for sure but he can be a pretty good college QB.

He's also very young for a freshman because he reclassified if I'm not mistaken.

Who gives a shit how bad USC is? They still have the best CFB band/song in the world, no?
Look at these stupid fuck Euros, they have NO clue that this is NOT a local production/theatrical event. Only in the U.S. could this be "staged" by college "kids". And the U.S. sucks........
