So lets say something crazy happens like this team goes on a tear and we make the playoffs, do you keep Gordon as coach or do you still go after a Quinneville?

I mean, you're probably talking 35 game unbeaten streak level of a run to get there. Even still, I'd probably go with Q. But it would depend what happened in the playoffs of course.

He didnt score first but had a pretty good game.

Maybe not the first score but I'll take those 3 aces over Lindblom's first goal in forever.

IDK, we are really only a need to be 700-750win% and 1 or 2 of yhe wild card trams yo stumble pr burn out, yea it's a stretch but to me it would show this coach can positively grow this team IMO, make it a hard choice.

I would love to read that Lehtera has been waived as well...in official transactions, not here...no offense.

And seriously...did Vecchione piss in someone's cherios? How is it he doesn't warrant a call up to play in the bottom six. He can outskate most of the current in the bottom six and has better skills.

I have to admit that Hart has impressed me this far. Not many young goaltenders under age of 21 can make that adjustment from juniors to the big club in a very short time. The kid has the "it" factor and I honestly can't pinpoint what it is about him that makes me think he is above all others? Hopefully he keeps plugging away and keeps growing. The sky is the limit for young Hart.

Leier traded to Buffalo for Justin Bailey (53rd overall in 2013).

From the little I’ve read so far, sounds like they traded speed for size. Bailey is 6-4 200 or something like that.

Mostly an AHL deal, but worth noting I suppose. I liked Leier, liked his speed and PK ability. But I guess I’m not heart broken.

Depending on what we've done up to the trade deadline, I think thats when we'll see a big move. Simmer has def up'd his ante. A healthy playing Simmonds would be on a lot of teams radars.

Simmonds has to get traded or we lose him for nothing so that one is happening.

Well what happens if we suddenly find ourselves in a wildcard race and he is back to playing high caliber minutes, either way I think it would pay huge dividends to let him go especially if we could r*pe a team in the process.

So to update a post a few weeks ago. The Flyers probably need at least 96 points to make the playoffs. So they need 54 points from 35 games. 77% of the points left on the schedule, something like 25-6-4 the rest of the way. Only Tampa has managed that pace this year and they're on pace to have the highest point total in the cap era.

I'd love for them to climb back in to the race, but it's extremely unlikely. Dom Luszcyszyn at the Athetic tracks playoff odds, and today he's got the Flyers at 3%. The odds aren't good enough for me to think about not trading Simmonds to try to make a run. 15 games left to the deadline, I think to change my mind before the deadline, they'd have to win 12 or 13 of them.

This would be nice but we are just putting on our annual late run with these guys just to give us hope thus making us keep this team together and being disappointed yet again next season. It been a continuous pattern for years. We fall for it every year but im done being duped by this core.

Oh I agree it's way more than a longshot, but if they won lets say 10 of those games and Simmer is lights out it kind of puts you in a tough position. I still say let him go and get all you can get. Never know what next year will be like.

Oh I'm still on board for some moves I'm just picturing the future under more positive circumstances lol.
