He keeps trying to make himself a martyr.

He brought it up again and he's STILL wrong....lol

In the quote he posted, we told him why there wasn't a winner from that trade currently

Oh, I remember the conversation clearly.

We stated that they already had multiple guys at the positions they traded for.

I have no idea why he's trying to present himself as some sort of victim.

He said the Wiz overpaid.

He was wrong then and he's still wrong now.

Not necessarily. That talk was based on the team they had last year. This team is not the same as last years. Last years without Lebron is better than this years team without Lebron.

Had they just kept the same team together, they probably are still contending for the playoffs.
With Randle and Slow-pez.....

Possibly.

But, would they be much better than the team Randle currently plays for?

They have a top 5 player on their roster and they are barley treading water.

But, I guess it's possible they could do what the Clippers and Kings have done so far this Season.

Just looked up Ariza’s stats and he nearly had a triple double last game. Good for him.
Yep.

The whole team is playing better with Wall out.

I never liked the Wall to the Suns possibility.

But, what do you think about Conley to the Suns?

I think Memphis will blow it up at the deadline, the Summer at the latest.

He'd be solid with this young roster if you strike out on a guy like Rozier.

I dunno, I'd say your over is pretty high at 4. I think he'll be shooting puffs of air after 3.

In LA?

I think he hits 6 chicks, 2 dudes and an animal of some type.

Klay brings his A game to LA.

Yeah,

In all honesty, that is a trade unlikely to have a winner.

The Wizards are going nowhere, so landing Ariza has minimal impact unless they flip him. Getting rid of Rivers has helped chemistry though. Wasn't Austin's fault, but he wasn't helping either.

Suns aren't likely to win either because there is a good chance Oubre isn't even on their roster next year. It is very possible neither team got more than a stop gap.

And if he is on the roster, something tells me they will overpay for him since he is a RFA

Derozan is shooting 18% from 3. Aldridge is shooting 13% from 3.

Yeah, I'm saying they can't shoot from the perimeter. In fact they don't. They are making the mid-range jumper cool again.
they definitely keep the defense honest and dont allow the defense to just fill the paint.

Aldridge and DeRozan are definitely old school- and analytics has shown that the mid-range jumper is an in-efficient shot- but when you do it at such an elite level like those 2 guys do- 2 of the very best game at that shot- they can make it work.

and the most important thing is that they just cant be left open- if yo uare guarding DeRozan you better be ready to run your ass off of overy down screen--- same with Aldridge- their defender just cant sag off of them and dare them to shoot it like they can to guys like Ball, Rondo, Rubio etc.

In other words, you concede that you have non-shooting guards and be successful. Good. Glad we agree.

All team sports is about finding ways to exploit the other team. IMO, too many fans, coaches, and pundits think that they only way to be successful is to emulate the Warriors. The truth is that you should only try to emulate the Warriors when you have 3 of the greatest shooters in NBA history on your team.

Pop understands more about basketball than everyone in this forum combined. And what he sees is a slavish devotion to the 3 point shot which gives him the opportunity to exploit other weaknesses, specifically the mid-range jumper.

tristan thompson is more well rounded than Kuzma--- would you rather have thompson?

Mike Conley is more well rounded than Kyrie Irving-- would you rather have Mike Conley?

And as usual, this has nothing to do with what I posted.

I never said anything about who anyone would rather have.

You should probably stay out of conversations that don't involve you. You already have enough trouble keeping up with the ones that do.

Hard to say if they would be better than the Pels now. Based on the way they were playing at the end of the season. I'd say probably. But we have no way of knowing if they would or not.

Sometimes teams playing well at the end of a season, don't carry their momentum over to the next season.

Already waiving the white flag on a top 10 pick frpm 2017 lmao

With Doncic there he's very expendable, why not get an asset from a team that would like to try the guy out at the point? Why keep him around just to be a backup?

We will see what they get for him. I doubt anything special

Either way it is funny to me. To give up on a guy who was a top 10 pick in less than years is simply hilarious. Not like DSJ was horrible either.

OK, so, you have a point guard. He's ok, still young, possible upside. But then oops you get a new guy who's way way better. So your choices are keep the first guy around as your backup, with a youngster backing up a youngster. Or you take advantage of your good fortune and trade what you have a surplus of to get something you need back. You can find a veteran anywhere to backup Doncic.

An imperfect analogy is the Wentz-Foles situation. This isn't how it will necessarily go, but if they decided to keep Foles and deal Wentz would you LOL at them giving up on their big time first round pick?
