Jones is tied for the most OT goals for a defenseman since 2015.

Jones is at home in 3-on-3 OT

Obviously a few factors involved there, like number of games played in OT.... Not sure where the Jackets (and early 2015 season Preds) stand there in relation to the rest of the league.

Seriously though, there isn't much reported progress between Bob and the Jackets, so perhaps the scenario is Bread gets his full payday, and the Jackets move Bob and hope for a decent replacement for a year or two until Elvis is ready. Bob wants to be the highest paid goalie in the league and the Jackets don't seem prepared to make him that.

Bob has a NTC, so moving him would be hard and it would suck to lose him for nothing. But with some decent goalies like Talbot (he is better than playing in Edmonton makes him out to be), Howard, Lehner and Varlamov hitting the market too...

Obviously would love to keep him, but losing him isn't going to be the end of the world it might seem.

Sergei Bobrovsky will not be with team against Nashville

Any insight to what this "incident" was?

Definitely makes me think Bob is gone, so we might as well go all in on Panarin.

Yeesh.

Entertaining all offers. I think there was a reason the Jackets didn't offer in the offseason. We don't know the story, but something made the Jackets balk. Panarin gets all the moneys, and we try to package Bob and more to get more help. Some decent UFAs until Elvis is ready.

The only problem the Jackets have if they want to move Bob is there isn't really anyone who needs a goalie. Buffalo and NYI could probably both use a steady upgrade but they're both on the periphery, neither has any realistic shot at Stanley and would be giving up young assets/picks they probably need more than 2 months of a goalie they can sign for free in July.

Whatever it is that's happening there both sides are probably best served by sucking it up and playing out the season - Columbus gets a good goalie for the playoffs and Bob gets to try to crank up his value on a solid team.

I hope Portzline has checked all the police reports to see what it was.

It could be his reaction to getting pulled in TB. He was pissed and he went to the room and didn't stay on the bench. Could be that simple.

Jackets also have young assets to move that have little to no place in their plans (Milano, Carlsson, and possibly Wennberg - if Foudy looks NHL ready next year). Plus some vets that could move and not kill us (Dubi and his stupid contract, Jenner, Harrington, Savard). So they could go ahead and sweeten the pot if they need to in order to get the deal done.

NYI looks attractive actually. Lehner is playing well for them but on a tightrope. He is UFA this summer also. UFA G for UFA G (plus ancillary) and each team can hope to woo said goalie before they hit the open market. Plus Sergei is more likely to waive his NTC for New York than say, Edmonton. NJ could feature too. Kincaid is UFA and they have to realize that Schneider is not their guy. Both teams have the cap space to re-sign him too.

Buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Good points, BUT you never know when the injury bug hits and a team in contention needs to make a bad deal to keep their chances alive for the year.

I'd be very surprised if any bubble teams think moving for Bob makes any sense at the cost it would likely take. There's also the fact that he's causing shit on a good team, what happens when he comes here and we're fighting for our playoff lives? Why give up the goalie that's done fine to this point for that? If all it takes is a 2nd rounder maybe.

Bob has a full NTC according to Capfriendly so I'm guessing NJ or Edmonton are no-go's lol.

That's certainly valid. I mean, if Andersen were to be seriously hurt and Bob were available I think the Leafs would be insane to not try to get him.

But if they're bidding against themselves that doesn't make trading him for a 2nd rounder and Columbus going out in the 1st round make any more sense.

Mike Smith for Bob - Thanks.

Your team was my first thought as far as "looking to upgrade their goalie"
Rittich’s sv% is 15 points better than Bob’s in only five fewer games.

If it’s cheap, sure, but if I’m Calgary I’m looking more at Stone or Duchene if I’m spending assets on anything. Hell, Ottawa would probably throw in Anderson anyway.
