I am hoping for a defensive guy. Ideally I would have the top of the coaching staff look like this:
Vic Fangio - Head Coach
Gary Kubiak - Offensive Assistant Head Coach/Head Talent Evaluator
Chuck Pagano - Defensive Coordinator
Zac Taylor - Offensive Coordinator
Tom McMahon - Special Teams Coordinator

That staff is loaded, but might have too much ego to make it work. If they all can get along well enough and pull the same direction then coaching should not be the issue in 2019.

Well, that looks great on paper but no way the Broncos make a coaching haul like that. We'd have more in coaching salaries than players!

Fangio, Taylor and Munchak all had coaching jobs this past season while Pagano was out of coaching .. Maybe Pagano takes the DC position, with Munchak as the HC, and we'd have a potential HC in Pagano on the staff in case Munchak doesn;t workout ..

I would assume everything would be talked about during the interview process, including the candidate taking over a coordination spot ... I might have missed it, but I haven;t seen where Pagano is interviewing for any other team as a HC ... and if he wants back in to the NFL, a DC position might be his only shot this year

Big day in the indoor football world league that I am involved with.

Packers hire Matt LaFleur who started coaching in indoor football for the Omaha squad. Great to see this.

Yeah, you're probably right that the Broncos may have talked to Pagano about a coordinator position if he wasn't their head coach choice. I heard that Pagano also interviewed with the Packers but obviously, they already went in another direction.

If those are my choices, I would go with Munchak:
  • Offensive coach
  • Previous head coaching experience

More personality and loves Kubes most winner winner

It's going to Fangio - and Kubes - or I will be surprised.

I really don't care who it is, but I would like to see the defense get back to playing lights out. I believe the defense this year under achieved worse the the offense did. I believe there was talent there to be top 10 in most statistical categories.

I do understand that the offense didn't help the situation, but I feel the defense should have played better with the talent they had.

If we go with Munchak I want my dream of Taylor and Pagano as coordinators to come true.

Over lunch today I heard the Cardinals are down to Zac Taylor or Kliff Kingsbury to be their next head coach.

Kliff Kingsbury to Cardinals.

I heard Arians to Bucs is done, just have to work out a few details as he has a year left on his Cards contract.

Just a random opinion

I'm in complete agreement with what Elway is doing - he has said that he wants someone who has excelled in their job - whether it be offense, defense, etc .... Fangio has had some great defenses over the years ..

While it might pan out for Green Bay, you look at what LaFleur did with Tennessee as OC :

- 19.4 points per game ( 27th in the NFL .. Broncos were 24th w/ 20.6 points )
- 312 yds per game, good for 25th ( .. Broncos 350 per game )
- 4,998 total offensive yards, that compared to the Broncos 5,602

As bad as the Broncos' offense looked this season - and there were games in which it was downright ugly .. The Broncos placed ahead of Tennessee is just about every important category ..

Because LeFleur had the title of offensive coordinator next to McVay, he gets the HC spot to one of the best franchises in the NFL ??

That's a huge risk .. He didn't even do the job Musgrave did, and Musgrave did it with a ton of rookies

I guess my point is that after some disappointing seasons - head scratching, at times - Elway really has no choice but to bring in a guy who has actually done something himself ..

If it's Fangio, I'm more than good with that ... Fangio, Kubiak, Bill Kollar - these guys have proven themselves ..

Oh yeah, and good luck in Arizona ... wow

I'd be fine with that. Or Munchak. But I think Fangio gets us to the top (better defensive play) faster than Munchak.

This is how I was breaking the tie was Von and Chubb Fangio would carry us farther faster.
