I agree with most of your guys on the list but not so sure about losing Quin. Even if he lost a step, he is still by far and away our best safety and it isn't even close. I don't even know if I can name any other ones off the top of my head.

Definitely some LBs worth taking. I wouldnt mind having TJ Yeldon instead of Blount at RB. Some of the O-line especially the right side are decent too.

Not huge on him but he really never was given a chance IMO. Not a lot attempts though, so some life in those legs.

Dahl is nothing more than an emergency almost serviceable Lineman and not even that. He did well as a Tackle eligible TE or H-back but that's about it after 3 years later of drafting him.

I hate taking guys from those style offenses. Hands on legs and not in the dirt is bad for pro ball. I watch the first step and hip action on those kids. Plus if they have a good quick punch with their hands it usually, but not always translates to how quick they’re with that hand in the dirt.

Kareem Jackson would also be a great addition to the squad.

he's probably more in line as a nickel cb at this stage but I'd hate to see him up against quick-twitch, explosive off the line WR's. Hell he's gotta be early 30's by now. He shouldn't get much more than what Lawson is currently receiving but I'm horrible at predicting FA $$ contracts to players.

Kareem Jackson Contract Details, Salary Cap Charges, Bonus Money, and Contract History | Over The Cap

click on the Stats tab here. He had 17 PD's last year

Yeah, I saw that. Looks like he is in his pure prime right now and top of his game. Might not be as fast or explosive but DB's tend to get more saavy as time goes on and we could use him opposite Slay for a couple years. Or maybe move him to Safety to replace Quin?

Kareem is an absolute 100% go as an outside CB for me now. Thanks for the heads up. If Jackson can give us just 2 years at most like Rashean Mathis did a few years back then it gives us time to develop a 2019 draftee.

I believe you can expect to pay approximately 6-7M per yr. at a 3yr contract that's free and clear to cut him after 2 years. Maybe 9-12M in total guarantees.

Marvin Jones is almost guaranteed to be lining up across Golladay next year. Would be nice if Quinn could hit on another Golladay in the middle rounds this draft. Our depth at WR is almost frightening.

Probably not after all. read the following article and it seems like they'll use Marvin as trade bait during FA or before/during draft nights.

Maybe I'm just reading in between the lines too much.

https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2019/01/04/golden-tate-trade-lions-eagles/2482105002/

Quinn said the Lions were not close to making any other deals at the trade deadline, and that he did a simple restructure of Jones' contract in the days leading up to the deadline just in case a deal materialized.

BB_72; You don't do that just out of the blue or just in case something materializes for that scenario only. BQ and MP are going the Hoodie route with 1 quality WR and castoffs from other teams sprinkled in with later round picks or UDFA...

strictly imo solely in the above

there are other articles that when you read them all fully, BQ and MP are moving more to a run powered team sprinkled in with lower price WR's who are multi-dimensional. Marvin Jones is not that. Think in line of Edelman, Welker, Amendola types. Once again I'm reading between the Lines.

https://www.freep.com/story/sports/...inn-detroit-lions-no-rush-next-oc/2484292002/

The Detroit Lions aren’t in any rush to hire a new offensive coordinator, and general manager Bob Quinn said all options remain on the table for replacing Jim Bob Cooter, including staying in-house.

Quinn said the new hire will “primarily” be made by Patricia, though he wouldn’t rule out Patricia seeking input from quarterback Matthew Stafford on candidates.

“We’re looking for someone that improves the offense,” Quinn said. “I think we want a balanced attack, like we talked about before. We want to be able to run the ball, we want to be able to use our quarterback because he has a ton of talent. So, we want to be diverse. We’re not going to sit there and be in four wide receivers, shotgun every play and throw it 45 times. That’s not good for anybody. On the other hand, we’re not going to be three tight ends and run the ball 40 times.

“We need to do a better job of going into each week looking at the opponent and say, ‘How are we going to beat this team?’ If they have a great run defense and a poor pass defense, maybe we throw it 45 times and vice versa. So we want someone that thinks that way.”

Bob Quin is a POS, a Liar, an Ass kisser and completely ball-less.
You don't think an NFL GM, who has had many private convo's with the long thought out intended hiring of his old buddy, didn't think for one damn moment to ask MP, "Hey Matt, is there anything I need to know from your past that you haven't mentioned before".
The me too movement started just 4 months prior to MP being hired.
The following is a quote from the Free Press article
https://www.freep.com/story/sports/...atricia-sexual-assault-allegation/2481610002/

The Lions issued a joint statement from Quinn, Wood and owner Martha Ford, general manager Bob Quinn at the time saying the incident did not show up on Patricia's standard pre-employment background check, and that the organization stood behind him as coach.

"For a high-level position, we do an extensive background check on everybody and nothing came up so that’s kind of how we go through those processes," Quinn said.

Asked if it should have, given that it was public record and easily found in a LexisNexis search, Quinn said, "Listen, I’m not paid to do extensive background checks, I’m here to select a head coach and I’m very comfortable with Matt Patricia as our head coach."

BB_72; that quote above is B.S. He may not get paid to do it but he gotdamn well is responsible for making sure it gets done and when MP told BQ about his past, then BQ should have fired his ass on the spot.

Assuming the Lions sign Patriots Edge Rusher/DE Trey Flowers then I'd like to see them bring back the following players from the Lions team in 2018.

DT Ricky Jean Francois (he's decent at disruption and clogging lanes and outside edge on rare occasions) UFA

OLB Eli Harold (he's only 24 y.o. and performed decently coming into a new system after the trade) UFA

DE Romeo Okwara (23 y.o. and fits well as a temporary rotational RDE) RFA

FS Charles Washington (he's been a mainstay on ST, some not so good at times but he'd come cheap as an) ERFA

RB Zach Zenner (he finally got a chance to play some even though it was due to KJ's injury and Blount sucking) UFA

TE Levine Toilolo (27 y.o was the best blocking TE of any. Still had 3 TD's) UFA

LS Don Muhlbach (37 y.o. he had one bad snap in that Buffalo game which possibly cost the win) UFA

TWENTYMAN: A look at the Lions' 21 free agents

Ricky Jean Francois

Position: Defensive tackle

2018 stats: 30 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 2 QBH, 3 TFL, 11 QB hurries

Twentyman: Jean Francois spends time early in every week talking strategy and scheme with head coach Matt Patricia. Jean Francois made 11 starts, and was productive throughout the year. He is very good in the locker room, and is a willing teacher to young guys like Da’Shawn Hand.

TWENTYMAN: A look at the Lions' 21 free agents

Eli Harold

Position: Outside linebacker

2018 stats: 10 tackles, 4.0 sacks, 5 QBH, 4 TFL, 3 QB hurries

Twentyman: The Lions traded for Harold back in August to add some depth to the linebacker position. His skillset fit in nicely with Detroit’s multiple-front defense, and he was a good rotational player and pass rusher playing in 13 games. He turns just 25 later this month.

TWENTYMAN: A look at the Lions' 21 free agents

Zach Zenner

Position: Running back

2018 stats: 55 rushes, 265 yards (4.8 average), 3 TDs

Twentyman: After hurting his back in the preseason and being waived with an injury settlement, Zenner re-signed with the Lions in October and took on a bigger role after Kerryon Johnson got hurt Week 11. Zenner put on 10 pounds of muscle in his time away from the team, and returned a much tougher and more equipped runner. He’s also a core special teamer and one of the hardest workers on the team.

Levine Toilolo

Position: Tight end

2018 stats: 21 receptions, 263 yards (12.5 average), 1 TD

Twentyman: The Lions didn’t get enough from the tight end position overall this season, but Toilolo emerged as the most consistent of the bunch. He’s a very good blocker, but also proved he could make some plays in the passing game with his big 6-foot-8 frame that can high-point the ball. His do-it-all skillset fits Detroit’s roster.

RESTRICTED:

Romeo Okwara

Position: Defensive end

2018 stats: 39 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 14 QBH, 8 TFL, 1 FF, 16 QB hurries

Twentyman: Talk about a player making the most of a new opportunity. The Lions claimed Okwara off waivers Sept. 5. He soon became an important player along the defensive line with Ansah struggling to stay healthy. Okwara turns 24 this offseason, and should only get better the more muscle he puts on and experience he gains. He’s got a long frame, and showed he can rush the passer off the edge.

Charles Washington

Position: Safety

2018 stats: 6 special team tackles, 1 TFL, 0 INT, 0 PD

Twentyman: Washington played in 13 games this season, mostly on special teams. He’s proven to be a reliable tackler on special teams coverage units.

I know this is probably a bad call, but Wagner always has been a Jekyl and Hyde since he entered the league. Even with the Ravens he would alternate between ProBowl and scrub. Not a lot of savings in cutting him this year, might as well roll the dice he plays as his best self. Too many empty spots to fill already. If he is garbage again give Tyrell Crosby a shot, might as well see what we have there.

I like PFF. Not sure about their Tracy Walker grading cause I honestly don't remember that guy making one play all year, unless it was later in the year after my passion for watching these bums was already faded. All the rest of the Defensive guys I agree on.

Also noteworthy that TJ Lang was our highest rated O-lineman? YIKES
