That game ending throw had to be near impossible to judge. Allen threw it almost on a line from 50-60 yards away (40 yard line on the opposite sideline) and it was knuckling by the time it got to Clay, which would it die and drop as it got to him. Catchable yes, but the odds are less than 50/50 IMO.

50/50...something a 9 million dollar TE MUST catch...especially with no defender.

Wide open receiver in the end zone, something a franchise QB has to hit (yet missed several times this weekend).

He hit it... After evading four or five sacks on the play, he heaved it 60 yards.

For some reason, Clay was in the back of the end zone when his QB is scrambling back 20 yards.

The good thing about the loss...he doesn't have to learn to hate the Dolphins.

No effort, no talent.

Emphasis on the no effort especially. Refused to work on the side with Josh Allen to get on the same page, routinely rounded off routes and failed to drive on the ball, wouldn't use his height to high-point the ball, etc. Odds are, if Allen threw at Benji, it was a drop, an incompletion with Benji looking surprised the ball came his way, or an interception because Benji didn't run his route.

He was about as useful as tits on a bull. Notice that the Broncos claimed Holmes off waivers today due to their WR injury, not Benji.

Discouraging.

Allen did not play well. Mills and Miller stink again.

Didn't help that Shady had a run in his stockings and decided not to play. Should've traded him for a pick when they had the chance...

We ran out of RBs yet somehow managed to win

We do need to slow down on this winning thing though, hurting our draft positioning

Josh Allen is progressing better than planned. He's never gonna consistently complete 65% of his passes but he's gonna win football games. His Intangibles are off the charts and they show more consistently as this season finishes

I think he'll get closer once we improve the talent around him

when you consider how poor the offensive line and receiving options are, he's done a fantastic job

Year 1 of the Josh Allen era ended today with a bang. Allen played well other than the pick 6 and Zay Jones ended the year strong. We got to send off Kyle Williams the right way, what a career the man had....he will be missed in Buffalo.

Of course some of our performance today should be taken with a grain of salt, the Fish are lazy and basically quit as soon as things go wrong that much was apparent with how wide open are receivers were on some plays. We did hurt our draft positioning too but it looks like we're 10th. Bengals are another team in the hunt for an offensive lineman and it looks like they'll be 11th so we should be able to grab the best one off the board.

Still it probably would have been better to lose and have a higher pick to trade down with a QB needy team.

He had a good game today.....I like what I've seen out of him.....he could develop into a really good player but he needs to stop running so much or he could have a really short career.

Hopefully if we can get him more weapons he won't have to run so much

I don't mind the running as long as he is smart about it (not taking hits and getting either down or out of bounds). I wouldn't want to limit it if he's being safe; it's a serious advantage, forcing someone to spy the QB.

A powerful young back that catch out of the backfield, a receiving option at TE (Clay likely gone, Croom not ready to start IMO), and one more WR, along with the necessary OL upgrades would be a killer offseason. DL will need some tuning up, and that second CB is still up for grabs.

Good recap here, for week 17. The progression Allen has undertaken is easy to see.

There are videos for every week if you enjoy this breakdown.

Speaking of QB scrambling...take note of the last play breakdown...TD to Zay. Would have scrambled early in the season. Here, he stayed tall.

Also note, the times Jordan Mills whiffs or is on his tits.

I can say with confidence, I would take Allen over Baker and Darnold right now... but the best part is, we didn't even need to!

Allen is showing command of the offensive scheme. He's only going to keep progressing.

Big test this week, 3-0 vs 3-0... but the Pats are a different animal, than just your regular 3-0.

He’s my favorite QB of that draft.
