The Ravens franchise left in 1995 and there was an agreement in place to keep the Browns name in Cleveland and to get a new franchise there. You went 4 whole years without a football team, knowing you were getting a new one the entire time.

Regardless, the whole notion that you need to support all of your local teams is absurd anyway.

i never said you "had" to- i just said you are going to call yourself a "Cleveland" sports fan- its my opinion that you cant do that if you actively root against one of their teams against a division rival.

You can say you are "mostly" a Cleveland sports fan if you root for the Browns, Cavs and Red Sox- but you cannot in any way shape or form claim to be a Cleveland sports fan. Again- my opinion- but if it gets you so bent out of shape, that must mean there is some underlying truth.

I thought it was funny that wiggy said the Browns were moved outta town over night, comment # 10250. The fact is that weasel Modell announced on Nov. 5, 1995 he was moving them because the Indians & Cavs got new stadiums & he wasn't willing wait for his.

I am not going to tell anyone who to root- for - you can root for anyone you want to-- me personally- i just (a) dont respect fans that pick and choose their teams all over the country, and (b) I absolutely cannot respect any person who calls themselves a Cleveland fan but then roots against Cleveland teams when they face some of their biggest rivals.

Everyone is absolutely free to root for whoever they want.

I just think its bullshit to call yourself a Cleveland fan if you say, root for the Red Sox when they play the Indians or root for the Celtics when they play the Cavs- to me that just makes no sense at all.

Yep they went into the year with high expectations having won a playoff game the year before. They went out and signed Andre Rison. They ended up with a dead year because of the announcement. The team actually started the year well

yah trust me i know--- i was at the last game against Cincinnati when Earnest Byner ran around the whole stadium post game......I sat in the seats as grown men passed ripped out sections of bleachers over my head to throw onto the field.

I still have a copy of the SI with Art Modell on the front punching the dog fan in the gut.
