It's sad to see guys skip a bowl game if they were in a new years six bowl he probably wouldn't skip the game. However a major injury can cost you greatly Jaylon Smith dropped from a top 10 to 15 pick to the 2nd round because of the knee injury he sustained against Ohio State when one of their Linemen tried to take him out of the play and he probably only got hurt because of how athletic the guy is.

This game won’t raise his draft stock, he has nothing more to prove at the college level. These bowl games have become significantly less impactful if you aren’t in the playoffs and he won’t be the last person to do something like this.
