“We do home and homes with FSU and other power 5 teams.”

Bull fucking shit. When’s the last time they left their state for a non conference game?
Well FSU and Miami are both in the same state, but to answer your question UF played Michigan to open last season in Texas.

As for the thread, UCF isn't getting a home and home. You can have a one and done either at in Gainesville or at a neutral site. UCF isn't a major program no matter how many times the AD says "P6."

But actually, Florida State was playing major colleges since at least the 1970s, but they didn't get home and home series.
Yeah, that was my point, they sucked it up and played all those road games against the “big boys” until they established themselves.

So because they won 3 SEC titles in the early 30s and late 40s, they are a major football program? Are we completely forgetting that they have been in 4 bowl games since 1988 and this is the first year they didn't finish lower than 3rd in their conference since 1998? We are just completely forgetting recent success or lack thereof because of their success in the 30s and 40s?

I didn't say they were now a major program. I said they were once a major program. Your previous response to that is proof that you know exactly what I said. Your response...

"Did you just say Tulane has been a major program??"

The point is that some of those programs were at least at one time major football playing programs. UCF has never been that, and so they have never earned the home and home series. Cry, bitch, and whine about it all you want to but just because you cry, bitch, and whine about it isn't going to make it happen.

Bobby Bowden would play any team, anywhere, anytime. Hell, he'd tee it up in the parking lot on a Wednesday afternoon if he thought it would help build his program. The model is there for UCF to follow, but they're not interested. They want to stamp their foot and make demands, when they are in no position to do so.

Yes, that was the point, they don’t schedule home/homes with other P5 teams.

I’m just calling bullshit, but if UCF thinks they deserve home/home series with teams that stand to lose money from it, and plan to hold out for such series, they’re gonna have a shitty schedule for years to come.

We'll just keep playing our schedule and keep winning. Eventually, people will have no choice but to notice.

Shitty schedule, but a great record!

And it did help build the program. As you say, UCF could do it like that, but they don't, and then wonder why they're not taken seriously.

How about that. Who needs a decent schedule when you can just pretend you won the national championship trophy anyway?

Exactly. I mean, if we keep winning, we gotta be up there eventually. :-)

I think a lot of people forget the just 3 short years ago, UCF couldn't win a single game. So, while I am cocky about my Knights now, I do hold a level of humbleness when is comes to where we were to where we are now. 3 years ago, a win against an FCS team was welcomed with open arms.

Stanford found a way to schedule us when they were a top 15 team, what's Florida's problem? I'm asking for Florida to do what other P5 schools have done the last few years. Schedule us and settle this whole "UCF is nothing" debate on the football field.
Stanford is a step in the right direction for your weak schedule woes, but if you’re gonna defend holding out for home/home deals, I don’t want to hear your bitching. If UCF wants to make it as a G5 team who’s gonna be taken seriously, and maybe even have a shot at a playoff spot, they need to take what they can get. You should be thankful for any one and done away game with a decent P5 program and hope for any neutral site games you can get on the schedule in the near future.

Well then the point was patently false, because FSU is a P5 team with an annual series. Home and homes with Miami have also been mixed in, though next season the game is in Orlando.

And the previous AD (Foley) refusing to schedule other teams shouldn't be held against the new AD. I assure you, nearly all UF fans would love to see some variety.

I don't think anyone has forgotten. As a matter of fact, it's a contributing factor in most of the critics of your program and team in making a case that you haven't done the things you need to do to gain respect.

I'm not defending it. All I'm saying is what is the right time for a program like Florida to schedule us and if UF feels this way, I would think many teams on their level feel that way so what do we do? Honest question. If P5 teams on Florida's level feel this same way and, for some reason, we won't budge on the home and home deals, there's not much we can do aside from get a new AD and hope that AD has a different mindset, right?

How cute, you think you are the first team to do this.

Stop... if you’re going with Miami is the other P5 teams and they’ve played 1 P5 game at a neutral site out of state in recent history, I say the point was right on.

You have a very nice stadium IN Orlando you could use for a "neutral site" game instead of the tiny "bounce house". You would still have the game in your city, and would benefit from the home crowd, but it would make it more fiscally appealing to one of the larger P5 teams.
