Hmm...didn't see them going this direction.

Luke Weaver and Carson Kelly were the exact two players I expected to see, though.

If this is legit then I'm excited AF

Losing Kelly is probably a dumb move but the Cardinals need to actually commit to making the playoffs in the offseason for a change. NL Central isn't getting any easier

Good get. Not sure it will win them the division quite yet, but good move none the less.

Cardinals acquired 1B Paul Goldschmidt from the Diamondbacks for RHP Luke Weaver, C Carson Kelly, INF Andrew Young, and a 2019 Competitive Balance Round B draft pick.

Goldschmidt is just 11 months away from free agency, but this still looks like a massive get for the Cardinals, who have been lacking a big middle-of-the-order presence since Albert Pujols departed and then eroded in Anaheim. The 31-year-old Goldschmidt has averaged a .301/.406/.541 batting line with 30 home runs and 100 RBI per season since the beginning of 2013. He'll be officially introduced at a press conference Friday in St. Loui

Molina is going to be out there batting with a cane at some point now that Kelly is gone.

Catchers that aren’t at the realmuto level can be replaced.

He was blocked and ready. Might as well make a move.

It’s a good haul for one year of goldy for az too. Seems like a real win-win

Agreed. Also I'm not sure if anyone would actually notice if Molina was missing a step.

Cardinals needed to make a move and I dont think Harper was ever realistic.

I approve as a SF Giants fan. He has killed us over the years. He could be in the middle of a 3 for 50 slump and still kill the ball off of us
