If Notre Dame and Clemson did not play tough schedules, who in your opinion did. As you look, be reminded that of the top 8 teams, Clemson's opponents and Notre Dame's opponents won more games and lost less than any of the others. Clemson's was one win maybe two better than NDs.
Alabama may have caught ND by playing Georgia ( I have not done a follow up). But the concept that USC, Stanford, Florida State, Pittsburg, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Northwestern, and Virginia Tech, are all "nobodies" I like to know why you feel that way.
Are you under the impression that ND scheduled these teams to rack up easy wins. The two G5 teams they played had bad years but few P5 teams are willing to schedule NAVY. Wake Forest not generally a good team. But of this schedule only Navy, Ball State and Florida St. are not in bowl games. Florida State was a surprise and NAVY has been in a bowl about 7 of the last 8 years.
Since 10 of the teams are Power 5 teams, it means that their schedules were on, average, at least as difficult as all Power 5 teams. If your opponent's overall records are not better then everyone's else's, what criteria is there to use.

I totally misread that. I guess that makes more sense, Vegas had ND as dogs to the next few teams out as well, and has Clemson and Bama a couple steps above everyone.

for us fsu was down and so was both of our ooc sec games, guess I am just used to having a much tougher sched

but yes you never know several years out what a team will be like. so much parity this years lots of teams w-l record looks similar
