Oh i never claimed to love the left. They've got their own issues.

But trump and the modern gop are far worse.

My policy beliefs don't mean im going to support the right at all costs. The fact that so many people do that and put party over country is why we are having so many issues.

About the book.... In the book, Zakaria argues that thanks to the actions of the United States in spreading liberal democracy across the world, other countries are now competing with the US in terms of economic, industrial, and cultural power.

Trump is trying to right the wrong of the last president and make America a super power again.... but that's a bad thing right. Don't answer my man,,, obviously we see things differently,, all good.

Yes it's just a normal book not arguing that, and yes, id love to read more if I could find the time. However, this book looks a bit dry for my liking... rather a good suspenseful book from the likes of a Patterson or a Crichton. Now dem are page turners.

If trump were actually helping america thatd be great. Unfortunately he's not.

I’m no trump fan. But to say that none of trump’s policies have improved this country is disingenuous, at best. His tax cuts have had a direct, and significant, improvement on this country and the vast majority of citizens, across all racial and gender categories. By any metric you want to evaluate. Moreover, his renegotiation of various trade agreements have also put this country in a stronger world position to compete economically. If you can’t see this, then one has to question the credibility of any position you take when talking politics. You are just as guilty as you imply some of our staunch republican brothers are, just reading from the liberal playbook, facts be damned.

Never said you weren't.

Supply side economics is pretty widely criticized. Now i don't think you have to agree with those criticisms but this is not settled science by ANY stretch. Obviously one of the bigger criticisms is that tax cuts like these help the rich and businesses while really doing nothing to actually stimulate long term economic growth, wage growth, or help the middle and lower class.

Trade wars on the other hand are pretty unanimously recognized as harmful and there were noted costs to the ones trump has started. So far he really hasn't accomplished much through them.

So if you want to argue that trump while flawed has done some good things economically, be my guest. But realize that there are also very valid and fair criticisms to make of him on this front.

I think you can also get into whether he really understands economics or what hes doing and get into how some of his other policies like immigration affect the economy as well but that's getting a bit off topic and i don't think is all that relevant to the point you were making.
