If I were Courtney Smiths attorney I'd be making copies and make the case to the divorce court judge that Zach is attempting to interfere with her ability to have legal representation in court. Financial/Economic abuse falls under Domestic Abuse in the statutes.
I'd then ask the judge that Zach be responsible for her atty fees.
Ol' Zach would go ballistic then.

I dunno, was he? He was the only one who had to edit his side of the story. But excellent job of deflecting from this obvious bullshit article. I would expect nothing less.
Oh the irony.

You tossed up all that 'proof' that McMurphy was wrong last time because moms that had known credibility issues said shit that later turned out to be false.

I have no idea what the real story is, but the bigger point is, neither do you. Get off your fucking high horse for once. Players rally around to protect the team and their coaches all the time. You really think it's impossible they would do so simply because they are black and the accusation was of racism? Hate to tell you, but I don't care what they say team and their potential future careers often do come first, before the truth.

We don’t know the full story. We know that the article he published today is completely ridiculous and never should’ve been published. Why should i believe anything else he has written?

Didn't bother to read the whole thing. Why would I? Why would anyone really? Maybe it's bogus, maybe it's not. We do know that not one person on this site knows for sure either way. And we do know that specific posters have been suckered into so-called facts that were proven wrong already in this seemingly never ending saga.

I'd rather they all just shut the fuck up already.

McMurphy is using quotes other people gave him. I fail to see what’s unethical about that. He is merely writing a piece and using actual quotes people close to the kid had said about what the kid said and the incident.

If they’re lying that’s really on them. Ohio State looking into legal action is hilarious in this.
Except he's not using quotes other "people" gave him. It's from his dad, and despite not getting an official statement from Trevon or his mother, he ran the story anyhow. He also, of course, failed to reach out to any other actual players who were present to get a quote. That is what' unethical.

Also why wouldn't OSU look into legal action? In this day and age do you have any idea what allegations of racism can cost a university?

What??

Also, yeah I have a really good idea of what happened. Literally every person that was there and witnessed it said it's an absolute lie. If they were worried about their team and potential futures, they would just keep quiet. Grimes is smartly not making a statement, but the fact that he's liking every single thing that says the report is bullshit says all anyone needs.

As usual, you're simply full of shit.

Why would Grimes Dad gain by lying? Also, Trevon and his mom said he hadn’t talked to his dad in 2-3 years, yet phone records show Trevon called his dad the day of the incident. Flight records show what Grimes Dad states in the story. Lastly, why would an official statement from his mom hold more truth than an official statement from his dad?

And while it sounds good to say he didn’t interview any players at OSU, but there is zero chance OSU would ever allow the players to be interviewed by McMurphy. So it’d never happen.

Stop — no one on this site has a clue what actually happened.

When Taylor Lewan was accused of assaulting an OSU fan who yelled something at him. EVERY PLAYER ON THE TEAM said the story was BS and was made up and it was lies.

Then the season ended and everyone moved on and Lewan admitted to the assault and plead guilty. Players will back their teammates and school to the end.

Grimes dad, by all accounts, seems like a total POS. You ripped Zach Smith's credibility for having contested allegations of abuse, yet Grimes' dad - a convicted felon - has a much worse criminal record, including multiple allegations of assault against multiple people as well as selling cocaine.

Also, I don't see where it said there were phone records of Trevon calling his dad, just that his dad said Trevon called him.

OSU not allowing players to be interviewed by McMurphy may or may not have happened, but again, none of them gain anything by firmly contesting the allegations. On top of that, former players who gain nothing by speaking out, also firmly said the story is bullshit. You have multiple eyewitnesses coming forward saying no racial slur was made. Lastly, if the story was true, why would Trevon be on social media liking posts that say things like:

"I hope McMurphy rots in hell!"

"Any credibility you had is now gone."

"This story is an absolute attack on his family and the OSU coaching staff."

As well as liking the official statement by OSU saying it never happened.

There is a HUGE difference between backing a current player on your team who is also a MAJOR producer for assaulting a fan of your rival and willfully coming forward to deny a racist comment made by a shamed former WR coach. These two things are completely apples and oranges.

Your first two sentences of your first paragraph contradict themselves. Using his dads quotes would qualify as using quotes other people gave him. Hell they even interview the dads friend and he gave quotes. It’s rediculous to think using quotes that Trevon allegedly gave to his dad is unethical because he didn’t reach out to any other players.

An what will OSU get out of this? They certainly won’t win anything off McMurphy. McMurphy is using quotes from the dad of the kid in the incident. Are they going to sue the dad for slander? That’s extremely hard to prove.

The reason there is no difference is — the players are all still in school. They are still on the team. NO ONE is speaking out against their own team while they are still on it, unless they don’t want to be part of that team anymore.

Did I read the story wrong or is Grimes Mom not a nurse who stole thousands and thousands of dollars from a dying elderly couple? Maybe I misread it? But I thought that’s what it said?

And if Grimes dad is lying, is Trevon’s former coach who picked up his dad from the airport also lying? It seems like an awfully extravagant lie to make up out of the blue?

And Trevon was granted an exemption by OSU to transfer with sitting out. Maybe part of the agreement was he would sign a NDA. Who knows? Once again though — it is just another bad look for OSU. It sucks for the school, but as the team UM has to face every year — McMurphy is becoming by favorite reporter because he isn’t helping OSU in the least bit with these stories.

No, "people" would mean more than one person. He spoke with one person - a convicted felon who has been called out by his son and ex-wife for lying if he is the one saying this happened. Per McMurphy's usual strategy, he gets one person's side of the story and just runs with it.

The fact that he said he only ran this story because Urban is still coaching just further supports the idea that he has no integrity, rather that he just has an ax to grind with Urban. That is pretty much the definition of lack of journalistic integrity - running a story that could have massive ramifications based on the story of one person without actually figuring out if it's credible. He's done it twice now.

Dude, none of these players had any reason to say anything at all. If it happened, why wouldn't they just stay quiet? Why would there have been this enormous flooding of players saying it's bullshit? Not only that - it's 2018, dude. Not a single negative thing would happen to a black college athlete if he supported a story of a coach using a racial slur. On top of that, what about the former players who came out? There's absolutely nothing negative that could happen to them, yet tons of them came out and said this is bullshit.

On top of that, they aren't speaking out against their team. Smith has been gone for months now.

So you're saying it's more believable that a convicted felon and an old friend of his are telling the truth than dozens of current and former players with no criminal records? You're telling me it's more likely that a large group of young black men would lie about a disgraced former white coach using the "N" word in this day and age?

Finally - and you've yet to acknowledge it - why would Trevon himself be openly liking tons of Twitter posts calling McMurphy out for being full of shit? That makes sense to you? If this happened to him - a player who no longer has any ties to the university and would face absolutely no negative consequences whatsoever - why would he respond like this?
