The difference in this game was our porous defense. Fowler made a difference in the second-half but we have players who no business being on the field. Most notably, Marcus Peters who gave up nearly single-handedly 200+ yards to WR Thomas. The Rams should seriously think about moving Peters in the future.
... Baron too....

Yea, Barron is another and Joyner sucked as well especially in the first half in the tackling department. Ya can't have defensive players who refuse to tackle. Those three were blatantly obvious as NO offensive players just ran through them like they were not even on the field.

I think we are going to seriously see a different Rams team against the Seahawks next week because this loss is going to sit in their collective psyches and eat away at all of these players for all of the woulda, coulda, shouldas!

As long as the rams are hangry for next week against the seahawks, I wont be to pissed about this loss. But we really need to figure out how to tackle in the secondary...

Watching this game off the DVR so I'm going to offer some thoughts here and there without reading any spoilers:
1st quarter - Well, first drive and we can't stop the run. Peters holds and he still lets the WR catch the ball. :L How the fuck did Suh whiff on Hill on 4th down?!?!?! :gaah: Wow, Kamara gashed our defense, not that sloppy tackling from us helped matters much.
Higbee looking good on this first drive with the 33 yard reception and a block to allow Goff to have a 9 yard run. Gurley looking good early, finding holes and scores. Going to be a high scoring game I have a feeling, not that that would surprise anyone.
For fucks sake, 2 penalties already on Peters. Donald took the wrong hole it looked like but it was enough to mess up the pass at least. Donald getting into the backfield knocking Kamara on his ass was enjoyable. Fuck, we had nobody close enough to Kamara to be able to stop him. Brees is picking apart this secondary.
Goff hitting back to back 10+ yard passes. The one to Woods I would've liked to have been higher so he could've continued hit route but I'll take what I can get I suppose.

2nd quarter:
Like the response to start the 2nd quarter. I see that the gameplan is to attack them more through the air than on the ground thus far.
Ebukam with the perfect hit on Ingram to cause that fumble!
How the fuck did you miss the wide open Higbee by that much? Not a fan of doing the screen to the left side there. Way too many people around and not enough room. Looked like they were already planning on setting up a field goal after two incompletions. Not sure about the spot there (looked like his reach got it) but I don't know why you don't just go for the 3 points and take the lead to start with. Take what they give you I say.
Brees is going through our defense like a hot knife through butter. Thought that after that Brees run, that the fumble should've counted since he went head first instead of the slide, giving himself up and was never touched. Damn, we can't get any pressure on Brees and he's making us pay. Fuck, Brees is making it look easier than Rodgers did last week.
Back to back completions to Woods and Kupp. Glad to see him back and Goff looks more comfortable than he did last week I think. Well, that run play needs to be deleted from the playbook. Hopefully we actually go for the field goal this time instead of another fake. Fuck, wide right. :L
Damn this place is loud. Would've loved to have been at the EJD during the GSOT years when that place was rocking. Must've been a nightmare for opposing teams coming in dealing with that noise.
What a surprise, Peters was playing off the WR. Hopefully we can make some adjustments on defense during halftime because we have no answers right now for their offense. Well shit, that was a busted coverage. The linebacker shouldn't be covering the WR.
Where the fuck was Goff throwing that ball??? Even if it wasn't intercepted, the guy was double covered. Dumb, dumb dumb.
Wow, Peters actually did something useful. I'm shocked. Fuck, even when we get pressure, the guy gets out of it and gets a first down. Boy did the Dolphins look stupid passing on him for Daunte Culpepper. I take back what I said about Peters. No excuse for that shitty attempt at a tackle. Now down 35-14. Fuck. While I knew it'd be difficult, I didn't think we'd ever be down by this much at the half.
Surprised we're trying to do something within 30 seconds of the half. Are we trying to do stupid shit? No need for that Saffold! Well, at least we got something out of it, after some more stupidity. Down 35-17 at the half will not be easy to overcome.

3rd quarter
Hopefully we made some halftime adjustments. Looks like the Saints are playing the run and daring us to throw because Gurley hasn’t done much of anything since the first drive. I’m liking how Goff is spreading the ball around for this game. Not the best throw but Higbee should’ve had that. Wow. Love that effort by Brown to get in the end zone. Great way to start the half.
Does Thomas have something on him to cause him to break our tackles because this is ridiculous. Fowler’s first tackle looks more like a clothesline. Surprised that there wasn’t a penalty on Robey-Coleman. Nice to see the Saints do have a punter.
We finally have another Gurley sighting. Don’t know how Cooks made that catch but glad he did. Don’t think we needed to do the hurry up there but it worked out nonetheless. Lucky there wasn’t another interception there. Another field goal. If only we didn’t do the fake and Zeurlein didn’t miss the field goal earlier.
How did Donald not get the sack there?! Damn, would’ve liked a three and I out to end the quarter. That quarter went by quick.

4th quarter
Damn it, we can’t get that elusive sack. Oh well, at least it forces a punt.
Drive starting out well. Glad to see Gurley making something out of nothing. Glad this this team has been good at making adjustments at halftime, just wish we could start the games as good as we do 3rd quarters. Kupp paying dividends on this drive with that touchdown. Didn’t expect to see this game tied after watching the first half but glad that they still have enough pride to keep fighting. The Fisher teams would’ve already packed it in.
Got lucky Hill dropped that because there was nobody close to him. Kamara should try out for the Olympics after that hurdle. No penalty there because they were both holding each other. Thomas again. :gaah:. Well holding them to a field goal isn’t the worst thing to happen right now.
Not sure why you throw it short on 3rd down without pressure. Well, Hekker finally gets on the field. :gaah:
Fucking Peters gets picked on again and doesn’t even get set properly and Brees makes us pay. Thinking that’ll be ballgame right there. :mad2:
Nice return on the kickoff. Hope something comes of this with time running out. Why do you throw a 20+ yard pass when you only need two yards. Definitely not a good decision there. Cooks should’ve had that for sure. Have to come down with that late in the game. Well, the 72 Dolphins can break out the champagne.
Saints just running the clock now and we don’t have any timeouts left to stop it.
8-1 still is nothing to sneeze about. Hopefully the defense, preferably Peters, got a wake up call and get their shit together for next weeks game against Seattle.

There is always some goof in losing, winning can cover up problems. Losing can humble you and teach you lessons. I'm proud my team didn't quit. I'm glad we have front office committed to winning.

When you said "always some (goof) in losing" I'm assuming you were referring to Peters:):):):):gaah::suds:

I don't get it, Peters has committed the most penalties and given up the most TD's of ANY DB in the league:gaah:

Phillips needs to abandon the 3-4 defense, hes starting to piss me off like Dave Roberts!!! where are we weakest at, duh LB,( I like Littleton, but other than that we got nuttin, yet lets have 4 of them out there. We have 3 elite Dlinemen, but when only rushing 3 guys that means the other team has 5 or 6 guys blocking them???? Why don't we Ever blitz??
Part, just part of our Dback problem is we are getting no pressure on QB

I was sure happy to see the offense make it a game, I thought it was over in the first quarter. So we can hang onto that all week. Now lets beat the Hags!

They gotta do something with Peters. This is getting embarrassing. I can't even yell at Troy Hill like I used to.
