My 5.

Jazz over 49.5 - I think the Jazz are the 3rd best team in the West, albeit still quite a ways from the top 2. Unless Gobert misses significant time, which is certainly possible, this is an easy 50 win team

Knicks uncer 28.5 - This team is going to be epically terrible. IMO they will red shirt Porzingas, let Knox develop and go for a top 5 pick and try to lure KD next season

Heat over 41.5 - Pretty much the same team as last year. IMO they are a 45 win team.

Rockets over 56 - The Rockets probably won't win 65 again this year. But a 9 game drop is a pretty huge drop. Ariza and Moute are good role players but not pivotal to the team.

Bucks over 47.5 - A competent coach plus some nice additions will make this team much better. I think they will be a 1st round home court team next year with about 50 wins.

My 5

Miami Over 41.5- Basically what you said and early returns on J-Rich and Whiteside seems like both guys will be better than last year.

Minnesota under 45- Guessing they trade Butler before the season ends and I've seen nothing from Kat and Wiggins to show me they can be a good team without Butler.

Spurs under 45- With all the injuries to their guards, 45 wins will be tough to achieve.

New York Knicks under 28.5- Bad team that will likely tank after the AS break to try and get a top pick.

Jazz under 49.5- Dont think they'll be as good as they were last year in the 2nd half of the year. Guessing they fall just under this number

My 5...

Bucks over 47.5: more stability, better pieces, and the reasons Flyerhawk outlined earlier...

Lakers over 48: it won't take as long as some folks think for these guys to gel as a legit team...

Knickerbockers under 28.5: the tank'll be on strong this season, and the fans' cry for change in ownership'll be louder than ever...

Cavs under 30.5: just to piss off Wiggy...:D

Dubs under 62.5: hard to continually win 60+ games in the NBA every season. i personally believe their focus will be more geared for the playoffs...

Warriors - under 62.5. As CL points out, it's hard to continually win 60+ games. They are at the point where it's more about getting to the playoffs rested and healthy than seeding.

Lakers - over 48. That's a tough one with all of the new players. But the new players are vets and that experience should help. So, over 48...but not by much.

Cavs - over 30.5. They play in the east and they weren't left devoid of talent like they were when Lebron left the first time.

Heat - over 41.5. They have a solid team, they just need to stay healthy.

Rockets - over 56. They got worse, imo. But not a 9 game drop in wins worse. They'll be over 56, but not by much. Maybe 58-59 wins.

My only quibble is for the Ws, with the Cousins factor. Once he shows up I feel like they destroy everyone with the energy infusion and talent mismatches. He will be hungry.

Lakers: won't take long at all with the best Laker ever on the team :heh:

I mean JaVale of course.

Forgot about Boogie. But thinking about it, it's going to take him a minute to get back into playing shape. We also don't know what he'll be like. That's about the worst injury he could have as a basketball player.

I expect he'll be on a minutes restriction for awhile too. It's much more important that he's healthy for the playoffs than the regular season. The Warriors are going to need him to be as close to 100% as possible for his battle with 2 time NBA champion Javale McGee in the WCF.

But that's the thing, on a team like the Ws Boogie doesn't have to be the same player to be what they need. He might be but even if not he doesn't have to be the best, or second best, or even third best player on the team.

When they signed him it was a total shock but it's become clear how perfect of a fit he is for the team and them for him. It's kind of obvious really. If KD splits after this year I could see them re-signing him.

I think you are making a pretty assumption that Boogie will just seamlessly fit in. The Warriors have a lot of mouths to feed and Boogie is not one to quietly wait his turn.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with what you say. I just don't think his impact is going to be immediate because of the reasons I stated.

I also agree that, if he's anything close to what he was before the injury, he's a great plan B if KD leaves.

We'll see of course, but people grow up, and this has been a HUGE kick in the ass for Boogie. He's not stupid, he knows he can't be like he was before. Not a lock but I lean towards him figuring out how to make a very good situation work.

Steve Kerr has proven he is a master of getting big time players to work together (Phil Jackson-esque). The leaders on the Warriors will keep him in line.

It's certainly possible. It's also possible that Boogie will be frustrated that his numbers are way down which will hurt his market value.

Getting Boogie was a great move for the Dubs. But that is in large part because it cost them very little and if he is a problem they can just dump him. Boogie fitting that team is far from certain.

Where did I say it was certain?
