Please tell me why Sale pitched an inning last night to help close out the Yankees when he should have been resting? If a game 5 had been necessary he was the scheduled starter, right?

it was his side day anyway and Cora was pulling all the stops to not have it go to game 5. If there was a game 5 Sale would have been ready..

My opinion is that that the division needs to improve.

For the last two seasons, the Indians hitters have faced nothing but shit (AL Central) pitching for the entire month of September, just to be thrust into facing exceptional pitching staffs in the 2017 Yankees, and 2018 Astros.

That’s a hard adjustment, and those staffs ate their lunch.

Great point but I just don't see the Indians having any competition in the AL Central for quite awhile.

I'm guessing the bottom of the 9th was a little more drama than you wanted to see though.

Cora must have believed in Kimbrel more I would have since Kimbrell couldn't find the strike zone in the bottom of the 9th but it all worked out for you with a good play to end the game.

Yeah they are.... I am really hoping Verlander and company aren't there norms... Because they could easily silence the bats of the Red Sox... However both sides have a way of making pitchers pay for missing their spots even by a inch so that could balance itself out as well

LOL. No chance Verlander and Cole don't show up with their A game... You will have to beat them. Those guys are lights out. Dallas Keuchel is more likely getting knock out before the 5th inning than the other two.

With than said, I don't think there is no way in hell this series goes anything less than 6... Probably 7 games before this series is settled... This will be our biggest challenge year to date. It is soooo hard to repeat in any sport, much less baseball... You have to be great, a little lucky and need unexpected heros to step up in key moments.... So the odds are against us doing it again since we just did it last year...

If we go to Boston and lose the first two games ... it's over...

If we can win one of the first two games we will be in good shape.

Either way it should be a great series and good luck!!! We both will need a little...

Good thing he doesn't have to pitch in TX cuz he was worried about being bound and dragged behind a pickup truck for several miles. Price was thinking about paying David Blaine to body double for him since he could magically escape the ropes.

When is the last time Verlander was a +120 underdog because I sure don't remember?

I'm pretty sure you are correct because I can't remember Verlander ever being an underdog in Houston against any pitcher.

If Verlander and Sale are both on their game runs will be precious from either team.

I am not worried about Verlander being on his game (obviously hoping not, but he will be). I'm more concerned with Sale.... Yes he was great in his 8th inning and decent in his start but he hasn't pitched that much and I am still wondering "when's the speed going to dip again." We shall see soon enough.

Should be a good series. For my money this is the real World Series. The winner of this series will, IMO, win the World Series.

The Red Sox tend to do very well against all teams' aces and #2's. They seem to slack off just a bit against the 3-5 rotations and those are the guys that have generally thrown two and three hitters against the BoSox.

Price is 0-8 in the playoffs and was bailed out in two other games that he was pulled before the third. He has a serious mental disability when pitching in the post season. If he shits the bed Monday, Cora will send him to the bullpen and replace him with Eovaldi if necessary.
