So is the plan to fill those spots with guys who are playing for free?

You need to replace that talent with comparable talent or fade off to oblivion.

Agholor and Kelce aren't renegotiating for less. They may push some cap money down the road but that just prolongs the problem.

Honestly what do you think Wentz is going to cost? Please serious response only. Howie needs to be stocking up on surgi-lube now.

I’m guessing Wentz gets $200,000,000

I see it different. Maybe because our group of friends are Cardinal fans. When the Cards are in the playoffs the valley is a buzz. It’s all over the radio, TV, etc.

For the record, it’s pretty well documented how big of a Cards fan I am and I have never hung a flag in front of my house. And I talk a lot of golf because it is pretty much the golf capitol of the world.

It’s just different. One big thing is most everyone in Philly is an Eagle fan and there are sooooo many transplants out here. No one is trying to upgrade their life by moving to Philly :)
There is a huge HUGE difference. I lived in Philly for 29 years and Phoenix for 20. Philly and the other east coast cities are HUGE football first fans. I don’t miss much from Philly but I do miss the food and football environment

OK I can agree with that.

Now comes the big question. How much of a cap hit will he be?

Serious responses only.

It was directed at me because I said Banner was always known to be an expert at cap management and posted 6 articles bringing that up but Manster said I’m full of shit and all the writers of the articles were lying ball washers. I have no idea why he is so opposed to that but more power to him. We know the deal.

To be honest anyone that does not think the Eagles are very good at managing the cap is ignorant on cap management. Since the Joe Banner era the Eagles have been one of the best and I believe Roseman was a protege of his.

And Wentz will not be the Eagles first QB to get huge deal since the salary cap era. Some of you clowns crack me up acting as if the Eagles don't know how to manage big deals.

I don’t get it either. It’s pretty much common knowledge and really ain’t that big of a deal. Fucking cracked me up when I posted 6 various articles on Roseman being a top cap guy and his response was, “The journalists are just ball washer”. Yeah... all 6 article had zero journalistic integrity and they just wrote the articles to ball wash a management guy.

I seem to have a different opinion of the “chill” rating than everyone else. Maybe I should stop using it because half the responses I get back are “why the chill rating bro!”

I see it as a neutral rating, neither good nor bad. But whatever.

wrong...chill rating means "I wanna fist fight". I think you can take him.

It will be HUMONGOUS

Thank you, and this is precisely why everyone outside Philly are telling you you're headed into cap hell.

You will not be able to pay for the same talent level you have this year. That nice rookie deal is gone and now Philly has to face the music.

Yep. We should be good cap wise for a year or two but EVERY team with a young star QB faces this dilemma. I’d rather have cap issues and a young franchise QB then a ton of cap space and no QB. You have to reload via the draft and hit on some stars to keep it rolling. Just part of today’s game.
We were talking about next year in our cap issue argument. Not after signing Wentz in 2 years.

Philly locks up their franchise guys a year before they hit FA. Trust me Philly does not want Wentz to hit FA. Well unless he keeps playing like he has so far this season.

He has a 5 year deal and they can franchise him. He’s averaging over 300 yards a game and 2 TDs at almost 70% completion rate. That would be a season of 5000 yards, 32 TDs and 4 INTs at a 70% completion rate which is very good.
