Damn some how it all worked out being down 5 games in the 1st week of September. Never give up and now home field advantage all the way through.

If only. The Rockies are worse at hitting and pitching today than the Cubs. Let that sink in.
That may be the case, but it's 1 game and anything can happen...which is why you don't want to be in the wild card game.

I guess MLB got what they wanted in the NL this season with it taking two game 163s to decide two division winners.

I think this season was a winner for baseball fans who want good competetive divisions.
how many times are you going to get 2 game 163?

All in all, the 2018 season was one of the most interesting in modern history. Reds fans are playing 'pretend' so try not to interrupt, OK?

Even the Reds went through a period when we thought they might be who we wanted them to be -- but bad baseball teams finish last. In any case, the most intriguing players of the season -- Yelich and Gennett (from my perspective) were in the Central.

If Cincy can figure out a way to close the gap, this could be a 5-team horse race in 2019. The word "if" and the Reds are usually part of the same sentence.

I was impressed that the Pirates played very well during what some people thought was a re-tooling.

John, Don't give me more headaches talking about a 5-team horse race next season because we are having enough trouble trying to catch the Brewers and the Cubs.

With that said, you just might be right!

shocked that the Cubs scored just 2 total runs in their last two games!
Their bats kinda went cold at the end of the season in a lot of games.

If you would've told me that the Nationals and Cubs would both be out of the main NL playoffs at the start of the season then I would've told you that you were nuts but here we are.

Cubs have been in the playoff chase for awhile now. I think even some of their most hardcore fans will tell you that their team wasn't living up to expectations but I'll leave that to them.

Teams that win 95 games aren't failing expectations and if their fans want more, that's an immature fan base. Off and on, 95 just isn't good enough.

I will trade the 95-and-not-good-enough for the Reds' 95, which was about average for the last 4 years.

I'd imagine most of the Cubs fans know that they can't really blame a team that got pushed so hard. The Cubs played a crazy number of games down the stretch and if the Brewers and Cardinals weren't contending then they had a roster that could challenge for a WS.

The Cubs players are due for a break.

Good pitching always stops good hitting in the game of baseball and that's exactly what the Rockies had last night from their starter and complete bullpen. What's even more amazing is how much travel the Rockies have had to do in the past few days just to get to this point even though they will be huge underdogs against a rested Brewers team.
