I don't think he did a particularly great job in Toronto and the Devils did finally have some butt years after that Cup run but saying "what's he done in the last 15 years" while ignoring all the good things his teams did in 10 of those 15 years doesn’t make for much of an argument.

I think Vegas took themselves out with signing Patches. Colorado might be a possibility, but I think Dallas is also a likely landing spot.

As long as Ottawa is done trying to peg Ryan to an EK deal (and I'm not certain they are) Edmonton could make it work. Assuming EK signs for $11 mil it means they would almost assuredly have to finally trade RNH after the season to keep Talbot/sign Pul/build the rest of the team but they can pull value for him and they're still much better off by having EK.

But man, EK would have to be really excited to play with McDavid to sign in Edmonton wouldn't he? Forget the geography, they just missed the playoffs and were only 11 pts better than his bottom-feeding Sens. They're also historically comically inept from ownership to management.

Either way, I'd just be happy he isn't in TB.

Could be, but they still have a significant amount of cap space both this year and next. And likely they would be moving someone like Colin Miller to get Karlsson.
