You are saying they don't have the best team. I'm not saying they do. This is about the conference as a whole.

Nobody's stopping you but you. My understanding is you can't win the playoffs if you're not in the playoffs, but you'd have to ask somebody that knows about not being in the playoffs to be sure.

Not that, having the ACC ahead of them. I've got no problem if someone puts the SEC ahead, I think it's pretty close. But the ACC is trash outside of Clemson.

In the AP pre-season the B1G has 5 teams and the ACC has 4 but NC State isn't ranked and they will be before the end of the year.

That is far from trash and the B1G is living off of past reputation not necessarily from results (see Michigan). Let's see how good Penn State is without Saquon and a new OC (not sold). If you want to talk trash start with the B1G East because without Wisconsin that division is awful.

I'm not a big fan of comparing conferences or cheering for conferences. I don't believe in the "Team SEC", "Team B10" mentality. I hope every team in the B10 loses except Michigan every week. The only time I root for a B10 team is if they are playing Ohio State (or if a loss helps Michigan).

I'm simply pointing out that the SEC has plenty of warts, and one half of it's conference is a joke and has been a joke for quite a while. (well, ever since Urban Meyer left)

Likewise, but no, it wasn't. Their 3rd best team this year won 7 games last year, and that was only because they demanded a makeup date with UL Monroe so they could become bowl eligible (even though one of their wins was FCS, also). That is the 4th best conference, and it's close with the Pac12 for 5th.

I'm failing to see how anybody could rationally have the Big 12 as being better than the ACC? They weren't particularly close last year, and while WVU will make a jump, TCU and Oklahoma State probably take a step back with what they lost.

After that, put them however you want, it's mostly junk at this point. Clemson is the top team of these two conferences, but after that, I see a big gap filled by the Big 12. Maybe Miami proves everyone wrong, I don't know, but nothing about them scares me as an opposing coach. They were extremely fortunate last year to even be above .500. FSU is still a huge enigma, as is their coach (with a career losing record), so I have a hard time placing them highly.

I’ve got way more faith in FSU, VT and Miami then I do Texas, WV and TCU.

Also no way Iowa State is going to repeat their performance from last year which was good for them but still just average.
