Does that mean they are future superstars? Heck no.

What it actually means is that he knows the Lakers won't win this year regardless, and he is gambling that he will get Kawhi next season while keeping everyone.

I think he's also gambling that the Spurs will come back around to the Lakers because Boston and Philly don't seem to be willing to beat the Lakers offer.

From what I heard this morning, the Celtics won't give up Kyrie or Tatum and the Sixers won't give up Embiid or Simmons. Neither team seems willing to give the Spurs the number of picks they want either.

So to recap:

Lakers lost Randle, signed Lebron

Replaced Thomas Bryant with Javale McGee
Replaced Tyler Ennis with Rajon Rondo
Replaced Travis Ware with Lance Stephenson

Added Wagner and Svi in the draft

And Magic is not done yet.

All upgrades IMO

I like each of the signings for different reasons. Ultimately though, I think Rondo and Stephenson (especially Rondo) are here to push and challenge the young 'uns.

Philly traded for Wilson Chandler.

This article addresses the changes in approach the Lakers and Luke will have to tackle going forward. They didn't really address their crappy three-point shooting and with LeBron being the focal point in Kobe 2.0 ball, how is Luke going to go away from his pass and pass and run and gun offense he brought with him from GS to the new personnel. Personally I think the article is pretty close to being spot on. Methinks what I have stating all along is going to happen and losing some of the players Magic got rid for these so-called tough-minded vets will come back to haunt him and the Lakers.

Didn't you just spend the last couple of days saying how excited you were for the "serious assets" the team has signed and something about Magic doing exactly what he needs to do to get the best players to beat the Warriors?

Also, Kobe 2.0 ball? Yeah. I can totally see Lebron deciding to jack up 35 shots a game while Brandon Ingram just sits in the corner wondering if Lebron even knows his name.

The article is pure speculation on what the Lakers might do. It includes nothing from anyone from the Lakers re: their plans.

It also contradicts itself to a point. It points out the idea that the Lakers want Lebron to be more finisher than playmaker. Then tries, but never actually makes a point as to why it wouldn't work.

It ignores the fact that both Lakers presumed point guards are pass first guys which would lend itself to Lebron being more finisher than playmaker.

And it's not as if Lance Stephenson is going to play a major role on offense.

Heck, as Rondo pointed out, the Lakers will have the ability to have 5 guys that can create offense for each other on the floor at once. That doesn't sound like Kobe 2.0 ball to me?

Rondo and James are excellent passers and Stephenson is not too shabby either.

In addition, Rondo, Stephenson and McGee add some much needed toughness.

The kids they drafted will help spread the floor. Both Wagner and Mykhailiuk have 3 pt range (and the latter looks like a potential steal in that category).

Mykhailuk can really shoot,

But I am not sure he is an NBA player. Time will tell.

I think both will prove the pundits wrong and the Bonga kid we will see later as he is definitely developmental.

How many players are where they selected him?

He won't see much playing time right away with all the vets they signed....
