It's worth mentioning that in LeBron's final days with the Cavs, he made it clear he wanted to play with guys who have high basketball IQs. So the Lakers went out and got him ... Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee.

It's also worth noting that Lebron respects players that don't shrink under pressure and stood up to him, like Lance. McGee is just a vet min rim protector depth signing.

Shane.....You keep thinking this is just about basketball.

HE WANTS TO LIVE IN LOS ANGELES.

Of course he does, he is from Cali. From reports...still haven’t heard a peep out of him though. I mean it’s all rumors but I can see why he wants LA, it’s one of the deciding factors for Lebron too. He wanted his family and kids to go to HS there.

Nobody knows Kawhi’s real motive or drive bc he is a big baby

I don't know how true this is...

But, I would see if the Spurs had interest in Randle and sign and trade him with parts for KAwhi.

Julius Randle went, in one season, from a cap casualty to legitimately valuable role player. It seems that wasn’t enough to convince the Lakers to make him feel wanted, though, according to NBA.com’s David Aldridge. This would be quite a disappointing development in an offseason that’s already seen the Los Angeles Lakers miss out on Paul George. Here’s what Aldridge had to say about what he’s heard regarding talks between Randle and the Lakers: “Julius Randle has made it clear that I don’t think he really wants to be back there, so are you putting money into a guy that doesn’t really want to be back there?”

ESPN Insider Bobby Marks said it is going to be “extremely hard” for the Lakers to try and strike deals for Cousins or Spurs target Kawhi Leonard now that they have no salary cap space to wiggle with. “Boogie Cousins is unrealistic (for the Lakers),” Marks said.

They DO have cap space to wiggle with. They can renounce Randle for 12.4M. They can stretch Deng for another 11M, or trade him outright with picks and cash for an additional 8M of space. They will need to move Deng to get Kawhi, it's that simple. Either he's part of the trade for Kawhi with picks to offset, or he's traded elsewhere using those picks. The Spurs' leverage is dwindling by the day.

Leonard and PG are 2 very different people.

And you have absolutely no reason to believe that Kawhi is more or less likely to leave whatever team that gets him and go to LA than Paul George.

Paul George isn't the first athlete to say he wants to go somewhere and wind up not going.

I absolutely love the way he act like he knows both of them personally.

You would think he speak with these guys via text

I truly think the Spurs trade him to the Clippers or they don't trade him at all. The offers are shrinking from what I'm seeing.

He averaged 66 games per season.....before last season when he played just 9.

Last year was his first major injury. Before that, Pop would continuously put Kawhi on maintenance restrictions as it related to the amount of games he played like he does with most of his players. Kawhi hasn't been injury prone up until this point.
