Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox are one of the clubs that has expressed interest in acquiring Zach Britton from the Orioles.

Cant imagine the Sox have the pieces to acquire Britton, especially considering the O's would ask the Sox, or Yanks for that matter, far more than they would ask other teams outside the division.......And considering the Astros are loaded in the minors and will also probably be all over Britton, I cant see that happening

I agree they got ed rod for miller . I think stros or Indians will get him . throne said Indians looking at brach , o day and britton .

Dodgers need help with their rotation, and have plenty of nice prospects to offer up in order to get deGrom or Syndergaard. I want one of those guys in a Dodgers uniform.
talk is manny would eat a lot of those prospects .

I just want the Braves to get some bullpen help. If they don't, all this season will wind up being is a nice first half followed by a free fall.
I was impressed with your team .

They had an awesome April and first half of May. Have been mediocre at best since. Luckily the Nats and Phillies haven't been playing great either.

That would be surprising to me as the offense isn't really in need of much help. Kike actually plays SS pretty well and has already hit his career high in homers for a season in not too many ABs, so if Taylor's defense at that position is an issue, it can be remedied in-house. Taylor has been serviceable though.

The pitching could use some help. Whether a relief arm or two or another SP (preferably an ace).

That's the Mets you're thinking of. We gave Jose Bautista a shot, he lasted two weeks, but we normally don't go for the has beens.

The only way they can really rebuild is by trading them.

What exactly do they think they can get for guys like Devin Mesoraco, Asdrubal Cabrera, Todd Frazier, Yoenis Cespedes, Jay Bruce, Jose Bautista and Jose Reyes?

If they don't trade deGrom and Syndergaard, they're gonna be a shitty team with two great pitchers who will walk in free agency before the team is good again, and they can keep shelling out money to over the hill players.
they lose with them, they can lose without them. To me this is simple, move both of them now while their value is as high as its gonna get. There aren't many teams out there with enough prospects to make these deals but there's enough to help the Mets for a long time ...... like until they wear a Mets uniform and turn into busts and bums

If they don't move them, the Mets are gonna be a shitty team with two great pitchers and no real future.

It's a no brainer.

I think someone mentioned earlier they're worried about the reaction from the 7 fans they have left. This is how they do things over there. The signed that idiot Cespedes when no one else wanted him bcuz of fans and the NY media. Nuts. They make it as difficult as possible to root for them.

MLB.com's Jon Morosi reports that the Mariners and Rangers "have had dialogue" regarding a potential Cole Hamels trade.

This report comes after one from Morosi stating that it's become "increasingly possible" that Hamels is dealt before the trade deadline. However, he also notes that "no deal is close" between the Mariners and Rangers and "it’s unclear if other suitors are more heavily involved." It's worth noting that Seattle is one of the nine teams Hamels can be traded to without his approval.

What a shocker:suds:

Sean McAdam of the Boston Sports Journal reports that the Red Sox are letting teams know that Blake Swihart is "very much available" via trade.

The Red Sox had been intent on keeping Swihart around in a utility role, but they've been unable to find consistent playing time for him and he's batted just .158/.220/.184 this season. It appears they're ready to move on. A former top prospect, Swihart is still just 26 and under team control through 2022.

According to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, the Tigers are unlikely to move Michael Fulmer at the upcoming trade deadline.

The Tigers consider Fulmer a "No. 2 starter" and from the looks of it, teams aren't willing to pay that kind of price for a pitcher with a middling 4.20 ERA. Teams may also have concerns about Fulmer's durability after he was dogged by arm issues last year and eventually needed surgery. As opposed to other starters being floated as potential trade options (Cole Hamels and J.A. Happ), Fulmer is still under cheap team control for several more years. That could make him attractive to a contender like the Yankees, who are looking to add depth to their starting rotation

Jon Morosi of MLB.com reports that the Red Sox have been in touch with the Marlins about relievers Kyle Barraclough, Adam Conley and Drew Steckenrider.

It's no surprise to see the trio is drawing interest. Barraclough recently took over the closer role for the Marlins and has posted a brilliant 0.99 ERA over 37 appearances this season. He would be costly, though, as he's under team control through 2021. Conley has enjoyed success after a move to the bullpen this year while Steckenrider has only been up in the majors for a little over a year.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that the Blue Jays "have been extensively scouting" the Brewers' farm system.

As Feinsand notes, it could indicate that the Brewers might make a play for J.A. Happ, as they're expected to go after a pitcher this month and Happ figures to be one of the best ones traded. Happ was roughed up in his last outing to push his ERA for the year up to 4.02, but he's mostly been excellent with a 110/28 K/BB ratio over 102 2/3 innings. The lefty is a free agent after the season.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that Reds' pitchers Matt Harvey and Raisel Iglesias are "of interest" to the Nationals.

Heyman notes that the Nationals are in search of another starting pitcher while adding that multiple teams see Iglesias as a possible option in that regard. Iglesias hasn't pitched as a starter since 2016. The 28-year-old owns a 2.45 ERA with 16 saves and a 41/13 K/BB ratio over 36 2/3 innings this season. He's under team control through 2020. As for Harvey, he has a 3.86 ERA over 10 starts with the Reds and has been much better of late while showing increased velocity. He's due to become a free agent this offseason.

Posturing. He's been decidedly mediocre this year. The only thing that hasn't gotten worse is his K rate, and that was never that impressive to begin with.
