Adrian Beltre - 3B - Rangers
Jon Morosi of MLB.com reports that the Phillies have expressed interest in trading for Adrian Beltre.

He'd be a big upgrade defensively (and offensively) over Maikel Franco, who's been thrust back into an everyday role in Philly with J.P. Crawford out 4-6 weeks due to a broken hand. Beltre is batting .302/.357/.428 in 45 games this season for the Rangers and he still plays a great third base at age 39. The future Hall of Famer is in the final year of a two-year, $36 million deal.

Beltre would be a good pickup for the Phillies or any team looking for a decent option at 3rd base. Be interesting to see if a trade happens here.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox are one of the clubs that has expressed interest in acquiring Zach Britton from the Orioles.

The Red Sox are certainly familiar with their long-time divisional foe. Britton, who is a free agent at season's end is almost a lock to be dealt before next month's trade deadline. Interested parties want to ensure he's fully healthy first though, which includes demonstrating the ability to work in back-to-back games.

He has to be a 10-5 guy. why would he bother getting traded? He would veto any trade.

Cant imagine the Sox have the pieces to acquire Britton, especially considering the O's would ask the Sox, or Yanks for that matter, far more than they would ask other teams outside the division.......And considering the Astros are loaded in the minors and will also probably be all over Britton, I cant see that happening

Mets interim general manager John Ricco said Wednesday that the team will "have to consider" trade offers for Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard.

Ricco acknowledged that the Mets will be sellers before next month's trade deadline and that "everything has to be on the table." However, he also noted that "you have to look long and hard before you move a game-changing, top-of-the-rotation pitcher." DeGrom and/or Syndergaard would instantly move to the top of the wish list of contending teams looking for pitching, but they're still less likely to be moved since they're under control for multiple more seasons.

If the Mets plan on rebuilding, it's gonna take a hell of a lot longer to finish the job if they don't move deGrom and Syndergaard. Familia is the only other player on the team that has any real value.

And Im not even sure how "real" that value is...Familia has been getting torched, and even at his best, isnt very trustworthy

I dont get the idea of keeping De grom....he is 30, when he is ready to demand $200 million, the Mets sure as shit arent paying that freight, so whats the point?

Keeping deGrom will be useless. They'll miss out on a big haul of prospects, and chances are he walks after next season anyways, and even if he does stay, he'll be in his mid 30's before the team is competitive again.

I've been there with a team full of old players and nothing in the farm system. It sucks, but sometimes you just have to tear it down and start over. I'm really surprised Freddie Freeman wasn't traded over the last 4 years.

Seems the Mets are reacting to their fanbase and their desire to keep De Grom cause it doesnt make much baseball sense.....if they traded him and Noah, they could really rebuild their entire system, thats like an 8 player haul, many of them of the elite prospect status

Dodgers need help with their rotation, and have plenty of nice prospects to offer up in order to get deGrom or Syndergaard. I want one of those guys in a Dodgers uniform.

The only way they can really rebuild is by trading them.

What exactly do they think they can get for guys like Devin Mesoraco, Asdrubal Cabrera, Todd Frazier, Yoenis Cespedes, Jay Bruce, Jose Bautista and Jose Reyes?

If they don't trade deGrom and Syndergaard, they're gonna be a shitty team with two great pitchers who will walk in free agency before the team is good again, and they can keep shelling out money to over the hill players.

I just want the Braves to get some bullpen help. If they don't, all this season will wind up being is a nice first half followed by a free fall.

Yes, the feeling here is that Cabrera and Familia are definitely getting traded, but they cant expect much in return

Cespedes really screwed them, cause a healthy few months, he could have produced his way to becoming an asset

Cespedes was hurt a lot last season and has been hurt a lot this season, and he's still owed some big money. Ain't nobody touching that, and they're probably stuck with Jay Bruce too.

No, that ship sailed, the only chance was a healthy 3 MVP type months, and the Mets picked up some salary

Now its not even a discussion

Outside of a few players, the Mets look like a crazy retirement home.....I can see them all playing basketball in the courtyard with the Chief holding the net and R.P. McMurphy messing with the guards....

If this were 2013, they'd have an awesome lineup. They'd even have David Wright at third and Frazier could play first.
