George, Leonard, Davis, and Cousins. They should grab 2 of those guys if no Lebron. They will only be able to afford George if Lebron comes over most likely.

They will target George and Lebron this off-season. Maybe Cousins if they are confident that his Achilles will be ok.

They would have to trade for Kawhi or AD because they aren't FA's until, I believe, 2019 for Kawhi and 2021 for AD.

Both will want a whooooole lot for them too.

Davis and Kawhi are most likely staying put hence why most are talking about the combo of PG-Cousins. A wing player and dominant post player that can shoot, good combo. Championship experience? Not so much.

I would think AD is virtually untouchable. Kawhi, I think there is more room for a trade with young great potential guys + draft picks.

Nobody is going to be chasing Cousins with a max contract coming off an Achilles tear. The only team that might overpay him is the Pelicans, because they're the Pelicans (and need to keep Davis happy).

The Lakers would be smart to stay far away from Cousins. I'd rather keep Randle and/or sign some players to a one year deals to hold that cap space for next summer if they can't get both Lebron and George.

Agree. Unless the Pels decide they want to blow it up and rebuild...I can't see AD going anywhere.

I think Kawhi and the Spurs work things out, Kawhi gets his super max and he stays. The wild card in all of this, seems to be his Uncle. I don't know if his Uncle has been involved all along, or if it's something new. He almost seems like Lavar minus twitter.

Maybe @Hornsstampede2.0 or @TheKlaw know more about the guy?

I wouldn't mind seeing them target him with a less than max or even a max as long as either is short (2-3 years) and there are assurances that his Achilles will be okay or looks to be.

All things considered, they may almost be better off long term landing 1 or zero max guys, re-signing Randle and rolling the cap space over to next year.

Then they should be able unload Deng as an expiring contract and can use Randle as trade bait if necessary.

And, there is almost no chance Ball would be a rotation player as a rookie. That would not sit well with Lavar.

Because, as we have been told before, 2nd round rookies and UDFAs never make the rotation as rookies on championship caliber teams.
Don’t count on LiAngelo Ball following in his brother’s footsteps. While the Los Angeles Lakers held a workout Tuesday that included the younger brother of starting point guard Lonzo Ball, a person with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports team officials have no interest in drafting or signing the 19-year-old – for the NBA team or even the G-League team, the South Bay Lakers.

Interesting report on Cowherd:

Apparently, the Rockets are high on PG and will pursue him, but the Lakers are still the favorites to get him.

The report is that Morey really likes him and that the Rockets wanted to trade for him when he went to OKC.

It's looking like GM's are placing what happened in OKC on Westbrook, not PG.

Houston would be a very interesting landing spot for him. Imo, he may make more sense than Lebron.

A young, elite, 2 way wing who isn't exactly ball dominant, but can get you a lot of points when Harden or CP3 are having an off-game or are out. That could put them pretty much neck and neck with the Warriors.

I think everybody outside OKC blames Westbrook.

Yeah, like I've been saying, "due diligence".

For all we know, Lonzo may have gone to Magic and said "Can we get Gelo a workout so my Dad will stfu and leave me alone about it?" lol

What will be interesting to see, now that word is out that the Lakers were unimpressed, is if his other rumored workouts are cancelled or if teams will go ahead and let him show up.

Agree.

Plus....

To me, he's the perfect type of guy to invite to a group workout to press the guys who have a solid chance of being drafted.

He's hungry and fighting for his basketball life.

So, he's going to give max effort.

How are the first and second round prospects going to respond to that?

Wow...he'd be the perfect Ariza upgrade.
