They might have had a point if there weren't 4 other teams giving him a workout. Lots of players brothers have gotten workouts. It's not like this is new. lol

I think LiAngelo plays a few seasons overseas and then gives it up and gets a job counting Lonzo's or Melo's $. Or both.

Yeah, if he wants to play basketball professionally, that's seems his most likely path.

Unless he's gonna be the star of the Lavar League.

Then Lavar can tweet about how his league is gonna take down the NBA with Gelo leading the way.

Which is exactly the plan if they don't land anyone. Magic has already said as much.

Wiggy already knows this as he has posted this same shit at least 10 times.

He's beginning to circle the drain again.
i understand its the plan.

I just think that if they dont sign someone it will be a failure---- i dont know how saying "well we struck out--- lets wait till next year" isnt an indictment and a failure.

i absolutely positively dont think they should settle for avery bradley and denadre jordan types etc.....

but if - for the , what straight year?

i mean cmon man-- how many years now have you been saying "the lakers plan is to wait and sign a big time free agent with cap space?"

they have the ability to get 2 max slots- they have magic as their recruiter- they have what many lakers fans have told me is a great young core.....if those things cant sell a guy then what can?

i think he will make a team-- he played well overseas at a young age and seems like a humble kid and a hard worker that has learned from his mistakes

hes not gonna be a starter - and probably almost definitely not a rotation player--- but as a 13th-15th guy? i can definitely see that.

hey i applaud your patience if they dont sign anyone and you can say--- well- its okay- we can wait another year. And like you i totally agree--- the dumbest thing would be to pull a Heat and sign a bunch of mediocre guys like Tyler Johnson and Dion Waiters and Kelly Onlyk and James Johnson to expensive deals and clog up your cap space. THAT would be like what Short Buss did with Mozgov and Deng and Magic and Pelinka are way too smart for that.

Waiting for next year when Klay is a FA, Kyrie Irving is a free agent, KEvin Love is a free agent etc. and many more would not be a bad thing.

On the other hand- it would be hard for me to be patient for yet another year.

The circumstances are ripe arent they? Theey supposedly have so much working for them--- (i) Magic a recruiter- (ii) Jeanie Buss in charge- (iii)ability to make 2 max slots when very few other teams have cap room for even 1 max slot---- (iv) a ton of high level free agents even if you dont count guys like Durant, CP3 you still have LeBron, George, Cousins and guys rumored to be on trade market like KAwhi---- (v) supposedly from what i have heard a great young core to sell them on---- and of course- from what i have heard for ages is a huge advantage is (vi) selling the city of LA and the LAkers tradition.

Its everything that you could possibly want to sell isnt it?

The one thing that he does have going for him is that he's young. Sooo, maybe there is a chance that he's a "late bloomer."

I doubt he is, but you never know. I don't see an NBA team even trying to develop him in the G-League though, because he doesn't have the talent for them to put up with his Dad.

And there's the rub. They'll deal with Lonzo and Melo because they are good enough worth putting up with the dad.

And there are starting to be reports that, at least the Lakers, aren't sure Lonzo is worth putting up with Lavar.

About 2 weeks ago, there was what is being called a "planted story" in the LA Times stating that no one on the Lakers roster is considered untouchable this off-season.

Some folks were saying that it was a message to Lebron that they are flexible as far as what they will do to help him win asap.

Others were saying that it was a message to Lavar to stfu or Lonzo won't be a Laker much longer.

Personally, I think it was a little of both. But more aimed at Lavar than Lebron.

Missed that but it makes sense,

Ball's career could be short if his dad doesn't stop his nonsense.

For top tier talent? Maybe not. But for a fringe NBA player, absolutely. They're a championship caliber team. There's no reason to bring on unnecessary drama or distraction. He would have to really, really impress the team and on top of that the team would need to feel it's a risk worth taking. There's a lot that would need to go right just to get over the Lavar situation. Lonzo is different being a #2 pick. LiAngelo wasn't even starting for UCLA at the time he got kicked off the team.

And, there is almost no chance Ball would be a rotation player as a rookie. That would not sit well with Lavar.

Because, as we have been told before, 2nd round rookies and UDFAs never make the rotation as rookies on championship caliber teams.

Boogie is a "modern center". He's not an old school "back to the basket" type center. He has range to the 3 point line.

His problem has never been an ability to fit into today's game. It's been his attitude and now his Achilles.

He is also very inefficient.

George, Leonard, Davis, and Cousins. They should grab 2 of those guys if no Lebron. They will only be able to afford George if Lebron comes over most likely.
