Yeah, I don't think conferences that have a high number of strong teams would benefit from such a schedule at all.

I think conferences should play every other team in a double round robin format every year...home and home. You need to go into every other teams gym and beat them. But I'm an old fart traditionalist so what do I know. Huge conference advocates don't deem things such as that important and have shot that type schedule right out of the water.

If I understand the idea correctly, that means if your travel partner is also in top 4 and you also face that team in the conference tournament, you'd be playing them 5 times that year.

A circus really...
