You are giving up two picks (#13, next years 1st.) and getting a one pick in return. This isn’t an RG3 trade. You are giving up one extra 1st round pick next year (I think it will be in the #20 range) to get a 8-10 year starter RB. He might be special
You are talking @ a RB. How in the hell does anyone know if he will be productive for 10 years or 2 years? I don't care how special he is - the position is very unpredictable & potentially short lived & that is why these guys are not usually drafted high.

Beyond that NOBODY has reported that this type of trade is even a remote possibility. Good job Dean in pulling this BS out of thin air.

I am absolutely on board for the right price of course. The problem with the team since Cousins/Griffin were rookies (last time we actually had any type of run game) is we cannot run the football. Is that because TWill, Roullier, Schreff & Moses suck? No, because they are actually an above average OL with room for improvement. Add a "legit" LG and the BEST player in this years draft and the run game instantly becomes much more effective. Something we haven't had since Cousins took over at QB which is an effective run game.
So as I proposed a few weeks back, our 13th, Cravens & next years 1st rounder for the right to move up to #5 should Barkley fall is my offer. Anything more required, then no I'm not pulling the trigger nor am I gutting this draft or any other draft for such player. Barkley is special and thus, next year's first I'm willing to part with. The odds of this happening are remote at best.

I agree with this, in fact next years has to be a conditional one. ANYTHING more and I'm happy with drafting Ronald Jones II in the second round.

I was just curious who was onboard with it. I didn't say it was a rumor or anything like that.

I wanted to see peoples opinions about it. You really think we go 7-9 with Barkley? IF the opportunity arises I just think we should explore it.

Sure, No one knows for sure. The likelihood of this happening is very slim, assuming our FO would even want to consider this.

All I know is this, we have been rolling out hot garbage at RB for years now. Are there any guarantees that Barkley will stay healthy or be productive for the next decade? Of course not. But we have seen in the past years how a Todd Gurley, Zeke Elliott, Adrian Peterson, etc. can change a team. Sb is as much of a sure bet as any of those guys were. We could continue drafting guys in the 2nd-4th round, but we are much more likely to end up with more Fat Rob/Matt Jones guys than we are to get a David Johnson/Tyreek Hill.

And no. There have been no reports that we are actively trying to move up for him. But it’s no secret RB is high on our list. So should he fall a bit, a trade could be in play.

Yeah, it started back then to an extent, but it was still big splashy FA signing mostly. This pains me to say this, but Joe Gibbs was the one who really got the ball rolling on ridiculous multiple pieces/for one player trades. Not sure which, but I believe it was the 3rd rd pk to the Jags for an about to be cut and old Mark Brunnell. It was that dumb ass move and the Champ/2nd rd pk for Clinton trade that started this snowball rollin and fans like dean n coach eat that shit up like fuckin Cocoa Peebles.

whoa I didn't eat nothing. I think Barkley is a special talent. A trade up for him could be possible. Its fun to think about.

Me in a foursome with Condi Rice, Anne Coulter and Sarah Palin is also possible, but I'm not holding my breath.

Its fun for you cuz you have a fantasy football mindset. As evidenced by how hard you're on Allen's bandwagon. When in reality he's been a shit-stain of a GM.

Where are you getting fantasy football mindset? Getting Barkley makes our offense and tremendously better. If you cant realize that I don't know what to tell you. I think Barkley is light years ahead of all these RB's in the draft. So if we can get him, why not? I liked how Allens handled the off season so far. I disagreed with his past drafts and trade downs so I don't know where you get bandwagon from.

With a 4some like that, I'd have to shut my eyes AND hold my breath. At least swap in Hope Hicks for Coulter.

I think you're overstating the impact of those great RBs especially relative to what those teams could have had at other positions instead and understating the odds of getting a quality RB in the mid rounds. Competent RBs are not hard to come by.

You still haven't addressed the fact that a RB is a bad investment that high and that trade ups are almost always bad ideas, making this a pretty bad plan.
