It looks like it. A lot of hype going on with Mayfield. I think Allen is the real deal. The two cali guys should go high. I would laugh my ass off if the NYG pass on a QB. It looks like we wont see any of these four. This does put more pressure on us to sign KC. I will say if we had a top 5 pick I don't think the organization would even think about signing KC. Just my opinion.

Rudolph and Jackson look like late first round early 2nd round guys. Do any of you think 5 Qb's will go in round 1? Who is that 5th guy?

It could be 5 honestly. Ive seen a lot of mocks with Jackson going top 6 or so.

Personally Id go Rosen > Baker > Jackson > Darnold > Allen but thats subject to change.

FWIW I think Rudolph seems easily below the rest all though I should probably watch more of him.

They all have warts. It will be interesting 4 years from now to see who has done well.

I don't put much stock in the Senior Bowl "game" and either do the scouts. They go to watch practice and to talk to the guys. I did think Allen's performance was interesting though. His first half was a lot of the guy the ehb talks about but his second half was the reason some people are high on him in the NFL. A couple of those throws where NFL worthy.

The kid from Richmond lit it up.

Thats just what Allen is though. I get why people like him - his best moments are jaw dropping. But the bad with him is really bad. Its just tough to imagine him finally being a good football player once he moves from Wyoming to the NFL. Especially when those other 4 guys have plenty of upside themselves but with so much less to fix.

I don't disagree totally and my post was just an observation but somebody in the NFL is saying I can work with that. If he can hit that level then he must have upside too. The question is will it work but that same question applies to every single QB coming out.

I cant see how you would take Jackson over Darnold and Allen right now. If that is the case you should be banging the table for Jackson at #13 if KC leaves.

Darnold I'm a little up in the air still but he seems like he's a bit careless with the ball.

I don't think Allen does anything better than Jackson does. He's bigger but that doesn't really matter if he's a worse QB. He's got a cannon but Jackson does too and Jackson is more accurate. Plus Jackson played tougher competition, displayed good pocket movement, ability to make multiple reads, and is a way better athlete (though admittedly that's a bonus but not a super important part of the decision IMO)

What does Allen do that makes him better than Jackson?

Allen is more of a pro style QB. They are comparing him to Wentz. Good athlete for his size and I think he is more accurate than Jackson. The Browns could take him #1 overall. Jackson might slip out of the first round. I think Darnold is the most pro ready right now. I don't think Jackson fits on what Gruden wants. Gruden is going to think he is another RG3.

You have to figure the top 4 QBs go to the Browns, Giants, Broncos, and Jets. Four Qbs in the top 6 picks, has that even happened before? The Colts are in prime position to trade out.

By a short hair he is slightly more accurate. Allen has a career completion percentage of 56.2% Jackson 57%.

What Jackson brings is the never ending quest for the Dual Threat QB which Allen does not bring to the table.

If what you want is that electrifying dual threat QB that Vick, Griffin and countless others were supposed to be.... Well Jackson is your guy. If you want a QB who will likely NOT miss 3-5 games a season... well not so much.

Josh Allen's accuracy at Wyoming was 56.3% in 27 games.

Lamar Jackson's accuracy at Louisville was 57.0% in 38 games.

I read where Wyoming pass catchers dropped a lotta catchable balls, but Allen was also inaccurate far too much as well. I also read Jackson was the most accurate QB at a QB workout last year., but................

From those numbers, accuracy doesn't seem to be a strong suit of either QB. The best comp % between the both of them was Jackson's 59.1% last year. Unless a QB is hitting big down the field and on a lot of 3rd dn and converting them into 1st dn. Under 60% is not gonna cut it in the NFL.

I've heard no comparisons of Allen to Wentz aside from size-wise which seems to be Allen's biggest plus.

Hell, I'd stay away from both these guys personally.

why do you think allen is the real deal, he has sub 60% completion against sub par competition and struggled badly first half of sr bowl

The two guys I like the most outside of Kirk had a good weekend. Allen tossed two TDs and Alex went 7/10 131 1&1 in the Pro Bowl.

My realistic wishlist as of 1.28.18
1. Cousins
2. Smith
3. Allen
4. Mayfield
5. McCoy and Rudolph in the 3rd.
6. Bridgewater

Have no idea who White is or where he is projected but wow! Gonna have to do my homework on him.

I mean... they both need to adjust to the pro game. There's no "more pro style" between them. One just happens to be a world class athlete in addition to being a QB.

Comparing Allen to wentz is not a good idea. Wentz was a pretty damn productive college player.

Who cares what the browns might do? Doesn't change Allen being a severely overhyped prospect.
