Before today I was of the same mindset as @Sharkinva . But after watching Nick Foles post game presser. I'm having a change of heart. I can dig where peeps are coming from saying Eagles fans will be insufferable, but living in Cali. I won't have to deal with that on the same level as Skins fans back east will.

That helmet to helmet call in the Pats/Jags game was some bullshit. That was a good, clean hit. And really, the Pats only commited 1 penalty the entire game?

This ^^^^^^^ is the first post I've ever read from you where I thought you weren't serious. Can't say I'm 100% sure though that you aren't. It's also a short enough statement that even with the MIA period. I can understand WTF you're talking about, so there's that.

IM looking at this fro ma few angles Breed.

1. Eagles never winning a Super Bowl while I'm alive might not make me die happy, but it wont hurt either.
2. Lesser of two evils in my book.
3. From a Dan and Bruce standpoint, they will ignore the fact that the Eagles sucked for a while as they built that defense. They will ignore that the Eagles put solid talent around Wentz, and Foles had that same talent to work with. At the end all they will see is, well the Eagles traded up for Wentz and they won the Super Bowl.... So lets do that.

So for multiple reasons, the worst thing for the Redskins is Philly winning a Lombardi right now.

If the Redskins actually drafted a QB close to the talent of Wentz then - screw it - I could live w/ moving on from Cousins & even suffering through a year or two of a rebuild. However I have no faith in the current FO & in all likelihood they would draft the next Leaf, Manziel or someone like RG3 who would do great for a year then fizzle out. As always I would love to be proven wrong.

BTW - Foles did well & potentially could do well in the SB but no way that he does this for an entire season & has the same success as Wentz.

Do I think there is an upgrade at QB in this draft?? Possible.

Will that player be there for us at 13?? Doubtful.

Will taking that Upgrade even if there at 13, move us to the next level?? Again I have my doubts.

As of right now, I'm hoping we draft Vita Vea, but I realize there is no chance of that if we are looking for a QB.

Wentz best talent is his size. KC is actually more talented as a QB...IMO.

Perhaps but what I was actually stating was that I would be alright w/ moving on w/ a # 1 pick at QB if I had faith in the FO to pick the rt QB (or be lucky). I am not advocating that they move on from Cousins - just trying to prepare for all possibilities. Man - this franchise needs to do something to help restore faith from their fanbase. They keep going in the current direction & they won't need a very large stadium at their next location.

How was that not a penalty? Maybe it wasn't intentional or dirty but it was DEFINITELY a penalty.

Pats are well coached. It's not unreasonable for them to commit just 1 penalty.

Hey look I'm gonna agree with you again.

I don' think any QB we want will be there at 13 and I don't want to trade up. Which is part of why I want TB if we move on from KC. Let' at least go with a young guy with potential who might be cheaper to acquire.

I think a good portion of the fan base right now only really knows the Dan Snyder brand of Redskins football. Think about that for a moment.... Most of us here who can remember when the Redskins were sustainably good, have raised kids some of whom are now grown, who were not even alive the last time you were able to simply accept the Redskins would either make the playoffs or just miss them.

Todays average Redskins fan expects 6-10 and hopes for 10-6 and a wild card. I realize ticket prices have gone up, but think back to RFK, or the first few years of FedEx, the idea of covering seats to lower stadium capacity was unheard of.

The new breed of Redskins fan was raised on winning free agency, and hoping I worked during the season.

Cheaper is relative though. Will he cost $34M against the cap?? Nope. But then again Cousins shouldn't either if he is on a long term deal. Neither should he cost $30M even if the funny numbers say he makes an average of $30M a year.

Bridgewater is going to cost $22-24M to sign long term. And that's simply because of the way the QB Market is shaping up. So yea, in the end he will cost $3-5M less against the cap than what I would expect Cousins to cost. And yes he is younger. IM just not sold its worth rebuilding to save $3-5M and be able to say... we didn't sign Cousins so we win.

Forget about the Gibbs I era - that is ancient history. Think about the Snyder era. Just about every other NFC team other than the Skins have either been to a SB or had major success during that time. The best that the Redskins could do is the every 3 to 4 year one & done playoff appearance followed by basement dwelling.

Combine this with the fact that a fair amt of younger folks no longer care about the NFL or root for teams based on success and not their geographic location. I think all of this "winning off the field" nonsense is played out & don't think for a minute that Snyder is not aware of this. They really need to do something to kick start this organization. This idea of getting sexy picks (that don't result in wins) is nonsense and an outdated concept. Let's hope that they get this thing back on track.

Good thing a lot of your cousin's aren't from Philly, My Facebook page is looking pretty green right now. I am happy for them. Would have been happy if the Steelers had made it. The paternal side of the family was from near Pittsburgh before my grandfather ended up in Philly.

I meant cheaper compared to other options. All of these conversations are with the assumption Kirk is gone.

Again.. do I think there is an upgrade in this draft?? MAybe.

Do I have faith we will get that guy?? Not really.

Cousins is not exciting enough.

A Brady or Wilson would require a level of faith from our front office as well as skill in evaluating talent.

At the end of the day, I don't trust Bruce and Dan when it comes to picking a QB. Because I think what they will prioritize is likely the exact opposite of what we need.

Oh I got that. But to me saving $5M against the cap and basically starting over makes no sense. Reality is, they should have had a QB NOT named Colt McCoy on the roster in the event we got to this point. If we had a young guy learning, the idea of McCoy starting would not worry me as much. I'm not a fan of starting McCoy. But he at least has been here the past few years, and a Bridgewater, Bradford type move just reeks of well at least we didn't cave in to signing Cousins long term.

Yeah I was just being a shit stirrer. So many focus on the 1st round picks but sometimes the guys that can do the job come in the later rounds.

My post had nothing to do with what I thought Bruce/Dan/Doug could do.
