look NT will be a huge issue with us in stopping the run game .

mcclain has shown nothing so far so hopefully the regular season will erase the bust tag he is begging to have .

mcgee needs to show more too

allen is a legit starter

ionman is a rotational guy

lanier is too

hood is rotational

to me we have 5 rotational guys and one legit starter

Shame on the decision makers for allowing this to happen. You say, "did anyone at Redskins Park cause the PT injury"? Well no, but putting ALL your eggs in the PT basket cost you dearly now and thinking that basket would remain full knowing that the basket was piece mealed back together is stupidity. What other choice did we have would likely be the next question. Well, maybe you should have drafted that cog in the middle you were so badly needing say, round 2 or round 3.
Either case, as an organization we clearly failed at strengthening that position again this year and it will show as the year drags on. You have to be good at something on defense, whether is run defense, pass defense, great at causing turnovers or not allowing offenses to score TD's and limiting them to FG's. I'm not so sure we are any good at any of these things and time will tell but I do know an upgrade was needed at NT and we failed. Disappointed is the only way to sum that up.

i wont debate you on the fact we still dont have a NT . we needed one and our stop gap taylor got hurt .

now my question is who do we not sign to get a NT ? pryor ? brown ? DJ ? . my feeling is both Mcgee and mcclain would not be here if we could get a decent NT however you then have a hole at DE

its like the sherf draft , we needed o/line and d/line help and we passed on williams . no way to make everyone happy , we went o/line

now for the draft , do we pass on Allen for a NT ? or anderson ? or FM ? or Perine ? allen was the best defensive lineman in the draft . i cant see passing on him

all i can say is it sucks and hopefully that hole can be addressed next season

We are better on paper defensively than we were last season. Last season we should have had 10 wins and it isn't like I am just saying that. We tied a game where the success rate of the lick is 95%. We lost a game with 1:05 left and a 92% chance of winning.

That NT is a huge part of the defensive line in the run game and usually gets double teamed and Hood was horrible last year we would need whoever who is starting opposite of Allen to be dominate which I don't see happening

I dunno about NT rotation and depth chart mumbo jumbo but what I do know if this years D does better on 3rd down they will be better period. Last year was painful to watch week in and week out. 3rd and 1 first down, 3rd and 4 first down, 3rd and 8 first down, 3rd and 52 first down.
I never witnessed a D not being able to get off the field like that D.

I am not about determining what a team is going to do because of preseason results. Let them get on the field and see what happens. The team has new players and new coaches and likely a new scheme. It is possible the team comes out slow on both sides of the ball due to new players on each side and new coaches and play callers. But maybe they play better. We do not know a thing based on preseason.
