No More "Bullpen Failure" - maybe
The ironic thing is Wash made the opposite mistake in Murphy's early days here. He would sit him after he showed he was hot and play Andruw Jones instead. In regard to odor and his situation, we've seen time and time again the downside of having a " players" oriented manager. I'm sure everyone remembers the year Wash kept trotting Murphy out there because he was " one of his guys" despite the fact that Murphy could barely even make contact and showed no signs of breaking out of the slump. If you combine the ineptitude of the hitting coach iapoce with odors stubborn temperament, I think we are looking at a long season for odor.
