Thanks for letting me know that you have an 18 year old franchise as your #2 right up front. Saved me the time I might have taken to read the rest.

Well, they have 1 WS win, and 5 divisional titles... that is damn impressive for a 18 year old team...

I don't disagree with that.

Mike Trout is a young guy with a damn impressive four years under his belt. Do you consider him one of the top five players of all time?

Point taken... I am trying to fiddle with my formula to show what you are saying... Cant get Arizona off the number 2 spot... But I do agree with your logic...

In your time frame 98-2015
yanks 4 WS 591 w/l ( reg Season)
Bos 3 WS 549
SF 3 WS 532
Stl 2 WS 557
Ana 1 WS 539
Phi 1WS 511
Chw 1WS 506
Ari 1 WS 492
Fla 1WS 462
KC 1WS 442

Not sure how that equates to 2nd best franchise when they have a losing record:suds:

easy answer... Faulty formula... The marlins and diamondbacks are the difficult ones to correctly calculate...

In your opinion, which MLB franchise is the worst of all time? Give your thoughts and opinions, I figure there are a handful of franchises in the running for this.

Let me just say, although the Marlins may be terribly managed and their relations with the city is a dumpster fire, they do have 2 world series in their short time of existence.

I'm still going with the Marlins. As soon as they won they dismantled the teams destroying any momentum they had built

that's fine, but 2 championships is still 2 championships... There are 8 teams with no championship, and 6 of those teams played MANY more seasons than the marlins did...

I was looking at it from a sustainability standpoint with fans. They don't draw much and when they make a run they sell off the entire team and kick the fans in the nuts so they can barely enjoy the win.

In my life as a Phillies fan, the fat chick has actually slimmed down and looked down right hot at times, but it never lasts more than a couple years. And according to new information given by obxyankeesfan she must have been huge before I met her.

Cedrique I also did the formula from 2000 to the present and the Phillies are eighth in that span, so yes they have done a lot better recently.

Cyder you have something here, because my formula and I imagine Milk's does not factor in fans experience.

And from what I've read the new stadium is a dud too.

Mine does factor in HOFers, which helps measure whether a team ever tried to care about fans...

Yeah, that seems about right. The Phillies have been good enough over my lifetime but the 40's 50's 60's were kind of a black hole compared to some other franchises that had lots of great players and teams. So the stories from old time fans were more negative. Growing up the main topics from old fans were a team in 1950 that I'm guessing was a one year wonder that outperformed, and the '64 team which I believe was the first of Gene Mauch's many collapses that seemed to plague his managerial career.

The Mariners and Nationals/Expos are the only two teams to never reach the World Series and both have been around for over 4 decades.

The Cubs also have to be in the discussion for going 107 years without a WS title and going 70 without even reaching the World Series.

Mariners have 4 playoff appearances in the franchises entire history. This isn't even debatable.

One of the best players in the Mariners history doesn't even exist IRL.

Yeah y'all have had a WS appearance in the 1910s, than 1950 and lost both. Starting around 1976 once Schmidt hit his stride the Phillies have had more good than bad years.

Yes they stink but their fans still love them.
