Yeah -- that is my thought process with Harvey. There are a group of 16-18 top tier pitchers. If I kept Harvey -- my guess is, my choice at #4 will be between Kershaw, Donaldson, Cabrera, Stanton. 1st 3 will be Harper, Trout, Goldschmidt -- that is my guess.

I could go Kershaw and Harvey, have my top two set and worry about some 2nd tier pitchers around round 9 or 10. Or I can get an elite bat at #4, and use my 2nd or 3rd round pick to get a pitcher to team up with Harvey and still get a top 10 pitcher. Kershaw is so tough to pass up though.

Take Kershaw FOR SURE!

Harvey in the 6th is great. I get it, but Correa/Seager in the 12/13 turn is amazing! You can draft SP with your first three picks and you will not miss out on much.

So, you could conceivably keep Harvey and Kluber - and draft Kershaw with your first pick, is this correct?
I could keep Kluber, but he'd cost me my 2nd round pick this year, I believe. So the value isn't worth it.
The Kershaw pick is just my best guess. I won't know till the 22nd of March when the draft happens. I just think the top 3 will be Harper, Trout, Goldschmidt.
It is possible Goldschmidt drops to 4th, if someone goes for Kershaw in the top 3. With 5 OF spots per team, Harper and Trout will be pretty much givens at 1 and 2.

It is a given. 1st 3 picks of the draft. HARPER 1st. Goldschmidt 2nd. Trout 3rd.

So I have to decide on Harvey/Correa with Kershaw, Correa/Seager with Kershaw. Only other option is Correa/Harvey with Donaldson, Cabrera, Stanton or........another bat. Then I'd take a pitched on the way back in the 2nd to pair with Harvey

Kershaw for sure... and I'm sticking with locking up ss/mi in the 12/13 slots. And I'd still draft another pitcher in the 2nd.

Hitters score more per game. Seager had 98 points in 27 games, so close to 4 a game. I don't see him hitting .340 with an almost .1000 OPS in a full season though.
Harvey was worth 339 in 29 starts. I believe Kershaw led pitchers last year with 550ish in 32 starts.

I guess I could list my other options. I forgot I have Mikeil Franco, he'd cost me a 12th round pick.
Other thing is -- Anthony Rendon would cost me a 6th, but has 2B and 3B capabilities. 2014 -- he finished 9th in total points before last year's debacle.
Correa is my one and only absolute keeper.

Franco is very interesting. That becomes a tougher choice.

Look, here is the thing with Seager:

The fact that he is so young will intrigue most, but it does not really matter. If you keep him this year, you only get him for 2 more after, and even then it is unlikely he will provide much value as a 4th round pick in 2 years.. It is not like you can lock him up for eternity, so there is not a ton of risk in throwing him back.

When you can only keep 2, you need studs. Seager and Franco are quality players, but they don't move the needle like Harvey. Also, I would not worry too much about Harvey's work load from last season. It will take its toll, but not likely for another couple years. Harvey's arm should be stronger than ever in 2016.

You know what? I think you're swaying me.

Harvey or not.... you take Kershaw 4th!

You are on the same page as me. That is the combo I want. My brother wants Cabrera or Donaldson, as he said we could get an elite pitcher in round 2. We had the #1 pick last year and only 4 or 5 pitchers were off the board when it got to us in the 2nd round. 3rd and 4th, they were flying off the board.
Kershaw is projected to finish with 130 points more than the #3 pitcher overall for 2016. He is really in a class by himself

I am actually now leaning with the rest of the gang and keeping the 2 SS or Franco instead of Seager.... Since we are all in agreement that Kershaw is the clear pick if available, I would be drafting at least 2 pitchers in the first 6 rounds anyway... and i don't mind my second pitcher to be a step below Harvey...

who cares about the future, this is not a future keeper league, just worry about draft value, and it seems like Seager, Franco and Harvey all have similar ADP. in a redraft... But Seager and Franco are 6 rounds better value than harvey

Haha, I'm kinda looking at that Harvey/Correa/Donaldson scenario. Is Kershaw a sure thing?

really doesnt matter, he is the clear choice if available, but if not then he gets one of the big 3... as long as he goes 2 SP in the first 6 rounds he will be off to a good start in the pitching... doesn't have to be kershaw, just amazing if it is...

In all honesty, I could keep 2 bats, draft Kershaw and I could draft Harvey if I really wanted in the 3rd.
