draft better than the Cavs?

LOL they just took Carter Jr., instead of Sexton!!! LOL

for fucks sake.
You cant really judge this draft yet, but I would take WCJ over Sexton right now all day every day. So would most scouts.

They got Lauri Markkanen at 7. They got Jimmy Butler at 30. They got Noah at 9. They got Taj at 28. They picked Deng, Hinrich, Rose (who looked like the best player in the draft before tearing up his knees), Chandler, Etc. That is a bunch of great draft picks. The Cavs only succeed in drafts when they have the first pick and it’s a no brainer (Wiggins Lebron and Kyrie). Care to list any other non no brainer draft picks the Cavs have made that have panned out?

"Actually I heard a rumor including Deng, Kuzma, Hart for Love but I don’t it’s true bc they said Kuzma is off limits."

That's the original quote, Wiggy.

Lottery? NBA basement?

They can probably get into the playoffs in the east with ~40 wins...and I think they can actually do that w/o Lebron.

Any hope of competing for a championship is obviously gone. The question is whether they want to be in that dreaded NBA middleground or not. I'd probably ride out the shitty contracts they currently have for a year or so before completely hitting the restart button.

Why would the Cavs want Kuzma?

LMAO.

Why wouldn’t they want Kuzma? Lol

I would take Kuzma and 1st for Love. Sexton, Kuzma, build of some of the young core and get draft picks hopefully.

I wouldn’t say great. Kyrie and Lebron are two that are much better than any of those guys. I like Butler and Markanen looks good so far. Why take Wendall? You have a big in Mark. They needed a PG or 2 or 3. If Sexton becomes a damn good player it will be the same old thing. Bulls fuck up again.

But, Wiggy said Love would be the 2nd player on the Lakers....why would the Cavs want the 4th best player on the Lakers if Love would be the 2nd best?

lol.

Rookie contract vs $25M. It’s an easy choice

Wendell was the best player available. Kyrie and Lebron are no brainer picks that the Cavs lucked into as well. Anyone would’ve picked them if they had the first overall pick. Getting good players later on in the draft is way more impressive.

Let's let these guys play before making assumptions on what they will be.

Sexton probably has a higher ceiling, but so matter of factly writing off Carter JR. Before he has played a real game is extremely presumptuous. Because you never know. Colin Sexton might be the next Emanuel Mudiay, and Carter JR could be Al Horford.

This.

The real question is why would the Lakers want Love at $25 million for 1 year.

To compete a little better this year in advance of getting Leonard and Cousins next year.

Love to the Lakers makes no sense. It goes against everything the Lakers are trying to do.

The only POSSIBLE way that could happen is if Lebron really wants to play with Love again which seems unlikely.

Getting Love, unless Deng is included in the deal, would likely make it impossible for them to get either.

Yeah, I agree with @thunderc on this. The only reasons that I could think of would be to get rid of Dengs contract and to add a 3 point shooter so they can compete a little better this year.

Even if they were able to deal Deng as part of the Love deal, that would give them only about $23 million in available cap space for 2019.

It really doesn't much sense for the Lakers.

Except when James had the power to call all the shots.
Once he signs that dotted line today he has relinquished it for 3 years.

Isn't Love an FA next season? If not, then I agree that it doesn't make much sense.
